Mark "Spike" Stent is one of the greatest mixers in the history of pop music. He is one of the greatest pop music studio mixers who has ever lived. To emphasize this point, consider this: within ONE YEAR, he mixed both Bjork's fan-favorite and hyper-artistic 'Homogenic' album ---- and the Spice Girls "Wannabe." He is simply a legend.

And he has only worked with Lady Gaga on two songs:

- Bad Romance

- Telephone

I will always believe that Mark "Spike" Stent is equally as responsible as any other person in the industry for Gaga's ascent to worldwide pop superstardom. Nearly 100% of the population cites Bad Romance/Telephone era as the pinnacle of Gaga's career. It's absolutely no coincidence that she was collaborating with Spike Stent in the midst of it.

I would absolutely die if he were involved in LG5!!

OT: what does an audio mixer do anyways?

In pop music, the mixer is one of the singlemost important people in the process of creating studio tracks. The mixer is, essentially, one of the last people to get their hands on the track before it goes on the album. It's their job to take all the various elements of the studio recording and set  the levels just right... as well as (and most importantly) to do the "fine tuning" of the different recorded tracks into the perfect, tightly-edited "song" you hear on an album. This is why rough demos sound "rough." They haven't been mixed yet.

To put it in modern day terms, most of today's EDM DJ's are just that --- mixers. They take finished songs and adjust all the audio levels and timing of samples to make everything blend together seamlessly and, ultimately, POP.

He mixed the first two Spice Girls albums. Not just Wannabe, he mixed every song on both albums. I'm not surprised he was behind Bad Romance and Telephone.

I wouldn't mind him on LG5, I think Gagas earlier work was stronger mixing/mastering wise.

It would be great if Mark Stent would be on LG5.  With him and RedOne, LG5 will be nothing but pure slayage!

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.
