I'm sure that Madonna has her own longass list of achievements too. If you disagree with her being more influential that's fine, but she definitely earned her spot there.

I totally agree with you on this one.  MJ should have been named the artist of the 80s over Madonna.  I'm not going to deny the impact Madonna has had on the music industry, unlike other ignorant fans in this fan forum, but she did not impact the 80s as much as MJ did.  Period.
