I think it's meant to be used affectionately, like she is close to the series in an intimate way through her involvement. Like when someone says "the pop darling of our times", it means the most well liked individual among a group of people, in which she is for the Just Dance creators. They were even licensed Roar before it was released so that it could be on the first game after its release (though they did the same with Applause for that game). By the time JD3 was announced not to have any Gaga, I started boycotting the franchise and wouldn't buy another JD game until they started adding Gaga songs. I still don't have JD3 or JD4, but I do have 1 and 2. And after the game where they finally started using her music (and iconic choreos in some cases), they just keep adding the older songs that they missed out on for games 1-4 instead of adding her latest songs also. (Both Just Dance and Applause were on JD2014, but JD2015 just had Bad Romance and JD2016 is going to have Born This Way. They can also do non-singles. They've done it for other artists. Last year's game had 4x4, a non-single track from Miley's Bangerz, and this year's game has a non-single from One Direction called No Control. Pressed at no Venus or MANiCURE on the latest games. Katy may have more songs than any other artist in the franchise, but they will NEVER collab with Katy's choreographer to have her full official iconic routines playable in the games.
