She has made me feel better about myself and my outlook on other people/daily life for almost five years now. When I'm having a terrible day, sometimes I just read her old interviews or watch her performances. I think about how unique of a mainstream artist she is and how she is never afraid to fight for what's right. She gave me a voice when I felt like I had none. She helped me come into terms with my s-xuality. She opened my horizons to the reality of inequality that's rampant throughout our world. The whole world turned their back on her from 2012-2014, and she continued to persevere. She never abandoned her vision. She continued to be brave in the face of adversity, and honestly, that's the greatest lesson she teaches me everyday.
