You see to me she was never ugly, and it makes me uncomfortable that she might be caving into society's beauty standards. What many call her "ugly" looks are part of what made her revolutionary. I always found what others call "ugly" to be beautiful, and what others called "weird" to be self-expression. If she's getting called beautiful by basic people how is she revolutionary anymore? It wasn't just for art, it was insecurity as well. I don't know why fans make such a big fuss about her looks when we know they're different multiple times as day. Don't expect her to change, don't expect her to stay the same. Tomorrow she could shave off her brows and wear latex. She more free now than she ever was. She's breaking free from that idea that only her 'weirdness' mattered. She's in a great place right now cause she has shown the world she can be succesful in any form and she'll never conform fully. You can find beauty in any look, depending on your perspective. Gaga simply likes to play with these perspectives, which will always make for an interesting journey for us as viewers.Classic beauty is not wrong. Neither is being avant-garde, plastic, natural, thick or thin. It's all about perspective, taste and simply wearing what feels best. Gaga is the epitome of that. Let's keep in mind Gaga's main career focus at the moment is acting and she attended the Emmy's as an actress. Her look was heavily influenced by classic Hollywood actresses. It's not like she's gonna look like this forever. If you don't like it, move past it. Why waste your time complaining about something you don't like when you could be focusing your attention on things that you do like? It's unnecessary, especially because Gaga will undoubtedly pull a 180 with her look soon enough. She'll continue to transform and though she can't please everyone, her looks are so diverse they allow her to appeal to a lot of people's tastes. There's something for everyone. I'm sure we'll all be satisfied at some point. It's not the end of the world. That being said, I loved seeing her all glammed up presenting awards. Her demeanor was so sweet that night and the GP is loving it. She's being seen as more of a respected industry heavy-weight every day. She needs this every now and then. I love the classic Hollywood film star show she put on, the look was perfect. It really shows that she's dedicated to expressing herself through fashion and maintaining total control over how she's perceived during different stages of her career. I wish the GP would understand her fashion isn't supposed to be shocking or controversial for the sake of attention, some will probably see this toned-down look as another stunt. She turns public appearances into mini art pieces because there's a meaning behind her transformations, she's displaying her thoughts and feelings through clothes, make up, and wigs. When the poker face video came out they called her an alien. People thought she was weird with her origami outfits and the hair bow. She wore a kermit the frog dress, bubble dress, and she barely wore pants. Gaga was the opposite of normal during the fame era. In the Poker Face video? She looks really beautiful there and I know some people that don't like her but they agree she was pretty in that video I think that he's not refering with "normal" to "regular" , he means that people didn't think she was horrible nor pretty, just something like common (referring to her face) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I can't really speak for people who don't like her classier looks at all, but if I were to guess I think their dislike comes from an insecurity about loosing the version of Gaga they fell in love with, or maybe they are more in love with the bold fashion statements then they ever were of her as a celebrity personality.
