Is LG5 Gaga's most important album, past, present and future?

So far, Gaga's experienced a gigantic peak, a peak so high that an album that does fair is seen as a flop by not only the media, but members of her own team and past business partners. Now, after that "flop" Gaga's been rebuilding her image with stellar performances, an album of jazz classics and an upcoming roll in a show... so, is this make or break for her?

I personally feel like this album is the one that will really effect her future. If it turns fans off and sells fall again, I don't think she will make another pop album as she confessed herself that she would leave the industry before interest declines. This could literally be her last album for a very long time depending on the reception it receives.

ARTPOP also still leaves a sour taste in a lot of fan's mouths (including mine) and this is pretty much the point where I question renewing my stan card or not. I'll always support the lovely lady but I feel like if the music doesn't deliver this time, my interest will continue to dwindle to a point where I won't be bothered about future releases.

What do you think? Is this the album that really decides Gaga's future in the industry?

It's her make-or-break album, yes.

I also agree about the burning of the stancard if she doesn't deliver yet again, I mean there is only so many disappointments one should have to take.

However, she is working with RedOne. And if Justin Bieber could make a great comeback, I'm sure Gaga can do it too. So, you are completely right and valid in your points, but I don't think we have to worry. It is fair that we want her to slay with the next album, and I think it's very likely that she will.

Nah. People asked the same exact thing about BTW ànd ARTPOP ànd C2C. I get where it's coming from, but it's never that dramatic. Even if she falls flat on her face there's no reason she can't get up again, recent music history is filled with the most terrifying failures that didn't affect the future of entire careers at all.

I think she is quite aware of the fact that the 5th album won't do as good as her first did, and not even close to that. If she leaves the industry 'cause the sales are not too great, that's her choice. I think the next album will do decent, I think it's about music anyways. Numbers don't say anything about something's quality.

And I won't be throwing away my "stan-card", like seriously I've been with her since 2008, and went through some phases which I didn't like, I will stay with her as long as she wants to work and put out anything she is making.

I get your point, but, let's hear the music first and see what will happen to that era.  :coffee:

I don't think it's make-or-brake, as everyone is saying, but it will definitely have a big impact on what her future is going to be like. Does that make it her "most important" album? Perhaps...

If it does well it will maintain her status as a big international pop act for a while.

If it does poorly, then ppl will be less inclined to invest money on her and give her time on TV shows, etc., which means eventually we won't have so many designers wanting to dress her up, stages won't be so elaborated, videos won't be as big...I mean, it will still be her and she'll still be active, but the presentation might become more modest...which doesn't mean she won't be able to put out good, smart music or to present herself and her work in an interesting way...it might even free her to do other things, like a rock album...

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

@Benji Will u still visit this cult site after you flicked your stan cards off?

If I lose interest in discussing her, most likely. There's members of this community here that are lovely but there's not much point in posting if you don't have much to say :laughga:

No ARTPOP was the most important one and she screwed up everything. It will be extremely difficult to regain people's interest after that messy era but let's hope for the best.

This tbh. The only upside of her becoming irrelevant would be that she would become more accessible, so that the fans that do remain with her could have a better connection with her and maybe she could put out music faster because there wouldn't be a point to hyping it and waiting for it anymore

ARTPOP was not a bad album. tbh it could be a great album if it wouldnt be so messy. for example dwuw as a lead single with the same ama preformance for vma will definitly score #1 and would boost album sales. brooklyn nights should have been on the album. no j&d (hate it!!!!). but other than that it was a very solid piece of work that had a lot of potential.

as of LG5.   i dont think she cares about charts (otherwise she wouldnt do C2C). she looks a lot more in a happy place now. she doesnt seeem like she is trying to please anyone. and hopefully thats the sound that we will get with the new album. something fierce, creative, and gaga.  gaga never dissapointed me. and im sure shes gonna bring it with this album.

She's currently on top of her game: she's filming her first cameo appearance on a primetime television, critically acclaimed, Emmy winning program, she's recording an album with the greatest hit make (AKA RedOne), writing it on her own, marrying the man she loves, she had won her 6th GRAMMY, she had a nomination for an EMMY, and currently on the course of being nominated for a GRAMMY & an OSCAR with 'TIHTY'. :trollga:
