Creyk 17,817
Nnnn I wouldn't be so sure! She has reinvented herself 2 times before. When she went from a gospel singer to what she was in the OOTB era, and then from that into the Teenage Dream era. It wouldn't surprise me if she did it again. She is smarter than most ppl give her credit for.

Glamourpuss 29,062
That made me throw up a little....it better not be true think about the quality though. She'll make it worth the wait. Start saving for the tour now.

Alfonso 1,550
Oh and I have no idea, I think they'll both perform above average or pretty well overall I'll most likely be purchasing both if their discography is anything to go by this
mic 1,415
To be honest Katy, not because I am pessimistic, it is just how it works. Katy will be in similar situation to Taylor - her career stands so strong that she will slay extremely hard with the opening week sales and streams. This will cause significant snowball effect afterwards for sure since GP loves her. She might deliver her biggest sales to date.On other hand Gaga is in stage of recovery, the next time she can slay on similar level to TF/TFM is LG6 release after LG5 notable success. She's been kind of out of the major spotlight since 2011, so the new generation of pop music fans already grown up - they listen to Ariana, Miley, Taylor and Katy. She has to buy them, but it's not as easy because she is not a debut act anymore. For the same reason I'm almost sure Rihanna won't slay with next album, she already kinda flopped with her singles, FFS peaked at #4 which is kind of shabby as for Rihanna lead single isn't it. Cody Draco 2,531
Katy had 2 videos with over 1 billion views her last era. Can Gaga even get a video with 500 million views? Realistically Katy is more likely to have the bigger era yet again. Her streaming power is only matched by Taylor Swift.
Iwontell 7,312
Katy will come out on top...let's talk about something else now... ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.
BlackJudas 129
ARTPOP left a bad taste in entertainments mouth so that could take points away from LG5 but on the other hand, both Cheek 2 Cheek's album and tour really put Gaga on an entirely different stepping stone than the rest. Her performance during the Oscars and Stevie Wonder tribute were highly talked about and praised along with her role on AHS. I personally don't listen to Katy Perry (I've heard her songs but was unmoved) and I rarely see her talked about in the headlines. Katy might have a bigger opening but Gaga will have the longevity because she evolves musically.
DontDoubtDavid 1,191
Idk. I think Katy taking such a long break will hurt. It's honestly fair game right now. They could possibly have equal success. But I really hope Gaga does even better than TFM era. She's getting so much praise and attention now, and I think media really misses her. We will see. I hope Gaga will have more views on her videos next era, she used to be an absolute beast with views back in the day but that sorta stopped after Judas

Fame Romance 10,517
In fact, it is LG5 vs. KP5. I mean, Katheryn Hudson - One of the Boys - Teenage Dream - PRISM
HausOfMiklaus 1,803
Please don't do this. Ugh there's not even a comparison to be had anymore. Hopefully we don't get petty parallel release drama this time around, that's all I'm thinking.
BricksNStrings 231
As has been stated, such a comparison is ludicrous. Of course Katy will get more #1s and sell more....that's all she can do. Gaga, meanwhile, will continue to be a dominant force in pop culture whose work is actually relevant and influential, and will release music and visuals for the ages. I wish some people would look into music history...you'd be shocked how many legends never had #1s, and how many people atop the Hot 100 nobody has heard of....
