But Jessica, while an incredible actress, is not an international superstar. The FB comments were just greatly uninformed and judgmental, and it signaled to me that the fans were just being petulant.

exactly.  People on the internet looking for excuses to complain, go figure.

and kind of sad that a lot of Gaga fans were annoyed at her name in the trailer simply because of the dragging they knew would happen.   Ryan Murphy is clearly proud of having Gaga in this role and Gaga fans should be too.  Instead too many fans are worried about other peoples perceptions.   I think some would prefer that Gaga never had taken the role so she wouldn't have any chance of failing and giving "rival" fanbases dragging material.  Luckily Gaga believes in herself, much more than many of her fans seem to.

Besides, she's been playing the "Dark, conflicted soul" role her entire career.  She's gonna kill it.

Thank lord her name was taken out, it was just too much

I'm ok with them milking her presence to the limit, but it seems bad to put her (only known as a singer to this point) name for the first time in this show's history and never doing it with any of great actors before. It seemed unfair towards everybody from season 1.

It looked like the only purpose that season even exists is because Gaga is going to play, it was ridiculous idea to put her name in the title...

What a silly thing to worry about. I enjoy the shows I enjoy, don't give a flying **** about how they are promoted! I just want them to do well, so the original writers will stay with the show and so they can stay on the air.

People really need to find some hobbies, or something....:smh:

Good promo for the show! I hope this season has a big audience!

out of likes, but i agree with everything. especially with the underlined sentence which is, let's face it, a travesty. when reading GGD, gagz must be feeling sad... to her core.

With reason

mte. Thanks God they took it away.

It was a mess for the rest of the cast and also for Gaga. Tone down the hype arround her, Ryan. We have experienced how it can end.

The only reason Gaga fans are thankful that they took her name out is because she was being dragged for it by ahs fans. If she were being highly anticipated by the regular ahs fans, they'd be all over the place saying yas and slay.

In actuality it makes sense to market lady Gaga in the trailer because the ****ing star of the show this season. You all do know what the definition of starring is, right? Because it seems like you don't. Regardless of how AHS fans are hating on Gaga before the show has even started. Theyre playing hater by the books.

it is not about the dragging. I just found it disrespectful for the rest of the cast. It is not Gaga's fault. And they are promoting it arround her, which I am happy with. But.. that was too much for a trailer that announces all the characters and actors.

Who knew a name could cause such a ruckus? It doesn't matter. The show will still succeed or bomb this season based on its quality. Gaga's fans should really just be happy for her-- Landing such a breakout role with a "trendy" show as her first TV move.

I'm just glad the show is getting such good promotion! Theater airings will draw tons of interest to people who don't watch FX regularly.

So now everytime a trailer or poster for a movie/show singles out the one or two names of the stars of the show we have to think about the poor rest of the cast. Such disrespect.

How could Theatre and Hollywood let this travesty go on for so long? :(

Ex-****ing-actly. Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, etc., these are professionals, they get how the business works. They don't strike me as the type who would walk past a promotional poster with Gaga's name on it and want to rip it down. This is huge for the show, I'm sure they appreciate that.

This has been my takeaway from the whole mess. Last season ended with disappointing ratings and even more disappointing word-of-mouth, Emmy nominations notwithstanding. Murphy knows that if Gaga, and the season in general, don't deliver, the fans will riot and it could ruin the show permanently. He and the cast/crew seem thrilled with the work she's doing, of course they're promoting her with such zeal.
