It's not though because Kim Davis is a clerk working for THE GOVERNMENT and that means she MUST abide by the law and the Supreme Court decided same-s-x marriage is legal and therefore she MUST grant marriage licenses to couples and since she is refusing to do a job that apparently only she can do she was arrested. She can't be fired because she is an elected official, so there was no other option. She would have to be impeached.

To me Religion is personal choice. If it conflicts with you personally, and there is a likelihood of termination or worse jail time why would you do the job?

The job description was in place when she was hired. She changed her situation for the position she held so she should be prepared to bear the consequences. It's too bad for her.

okay I'm not religious at all but intolerance of other peoples beliefs is always wrong. calling someone's faith a hobby is disrespectful. If you have nothing more to add to the discussion than  renouncing someone because they're religious, move along.

The principal is the same. Muslim lady has work rules and Kim is going against Law. They are both acting against that there job mandates in favor of religion.

It's a shame since the arrangement they came up with seemed to be working great, but ultimately she is in a contract with her employer to fulfill a list of duties, some of which she can no longer meet.

It would have been kinder for the company to find a workaround solution (i.e maybe a slight change in role), but they are under no obligation to do so and they've made their decision.
