Quark 7,098
Not really, just stimulating you by blocking your ignorance with my own. Wrong, Thriller was acclaimed but it shot to a whole new level of acclaim after his death. My point is that it was still just as acclaimed as ROL. Quark 7,098
the album is full of top 40 pop bops so i dont really see this "other" side but okay So you don't find Aura experimental? You don't find EDM songs about rape experimental? You don't find intricate pop structures like Venus experimental? ect.
Jjang 2,262
So you don't find Aura experimental? You don't find EDM songs about rape experimental? You don't find intricate pop structures like Venus experimental? ect.No, no & no.She received a beat via email and sang on top of it. Yes, the structure she chose was non conventional in comparison to Top 40 Pop radio hits, but it's not experimental.non conventional =/= experimental. If you want a pop album that doesn't stray away from commercialism and accessibility yet is still musically adventurous then listen to Ten Love Songs. A true ARTPOP.My point is that it was still just as acclaimed as ROL. Why not carry this discussion to that thread, though? this thread is about Gaga and both Thriller and ROL are more critically acclaimed than anything Gaga did. -- > still not contributing to the actual topic. hmm 979
Why do you even care so much about whether or not it's experimental Most people would disagree but whatever, just listen to what you want.

Is about the topics and type of music she chooses to put together that is very experimental. Aura is experimental by any standards too. I mean is a complextro/pop song with middle eastern guitars, were the topics range from s-x to identity to freedom. Venus structure is also very experimental for a pop song. And Gaga produced it herself.

Madonna has been doing that since the stone age and no one dares to doom her as an experimental artist.
Quark 7,098
Multi dimensionality in lyrics is not experimental. Swine doesn't really have multidimensional. So that is not what I am referring to. I am referring to the fact that people usually use EDM for love or party songs. Not for serious topics like rape. That is experimental in my opinion. Ladey Gagz 2,512
And that is another of the reasons why the album is experimental. There aren't really any albums that sound that safe, and yet that experimental. The album is literary ARTPOP. You're lliterally saying the album is experimental because it's not experimental
Quark 7,098
You're lliterally saying the album is experimental because it's not experimental No. I am saying that ARTPOP is experimental because it blends safe and experimental so seamlessly. So it sounds mainstream and not mainstream at the same time.

Quark 7,098
That's not true. Do you listen to dance music outside of what goes into the top ten? Yes. Give me an EDM song about rape. There will be very few if you find some.
Lona Delery 7,214
Let ARTPOP die in peace. Sometimes it feels like I've got a war in my mind, I wanna get off but I keep riding the ride
Benji 20,113
Yes. Give me an EDM song about rape. There will be very few if you find some.Off the top of my head, I can't name one about rape but your assumption that dance music hasn't got serious or darker topics in it, simply is no where near true.
