Except you're focusing too much on the negative aspects of Nicki. There are so many good things she's done and you choose to focus on the negatives

In response to other posts where you called elijahfan racist, I want to point out he brought up nothing about race. His opinion may be swayed by how the media reports on Nicki, but to be fair Nicki has had a handful of feuds with other artists in addition to her rant on Twitter about the VMAs, so recently she hasn't been sunshine-and-rainbows. 

As far as focusing on the negatives, he's talking about this last thing we've seen from Nicki, which was something negative. If he were to post in a thread about one of Nicki's achievements I'm sure he'd be focusing on the positives.

But you don't need to go and call someone "racist" and try to tear them apart. She's done so many good things, and I personally love Nicki's personality, but the focus now is on how she popped off on Miley, so people aren't going to say "She did this, but guys-guys-behind the scenes she really cares about her family!" Or "She dragged Miley but ten seconds before she so sweetly thanked her fans!"

 

I'm late to the party, but Miley deserved that. Trying to tell Nicki, a Black woman, how to act in the face of racism when she herself will never face a situation like that. Nicki had every right to stand up for herself.

And to those who think Nicki made it about herself: wow, it's like Nicki is a BLACK FEMALE ARTIST... A black artist speaking about racism? Insane, I know.

What Miley meant was when Nicki spoke out on Twitter, the headlines the next day weren't "Systemic Racism in Awards Shows," they were "Nicki and Taylor Twitter Feud!"

She has no right to tell Nicki how to act in the face of racism, but the problem is when these issues end up turning into a feud we don't talk about the systemic racism, we end up talking about celebrity feuds. It's okay for Nicki to make the issue about herself as a black female artist, but instead it was presented by the news as a feud. 

Even with the award- she had a platform to call out race issues with the show. The very thing she tweeted about she could have brought up. Something like, "I'm very happy and lucky to have this award, but there are so many other deserving black artists who will not have this opportunity because of racism in the music industry," But instead she chose to diss Miley. So now instead of us talking about racism in the industry, we're talking about Nicki Vs. Miley.

(there was more to my post than the one tidbit you quoted...and honestly the tidbit you quoted wasn't even the main part of the point I was making....)

The feud was totally Taylor's fault because she tried to jump in there being the white knight of female positivity and love, speaking out against Nicki's indirect diss towards artists like her instead of respecting that someone is clearly upset over issues with the industry that, let's be honest, Taylor should be aware of. 

The feuds Nicki has had I can think of are Miley, Taylor, Lil Kim, and Mariah. (Didn't she get into something with a radio station too?)

I can't name a feud she's been in that I think were started by Nicki though, tbh. She usually responds to someone else dissing her. 

But the focus of my post to you was that I don't believe it's okay to go jumping on elijahfan and calling him a racist over his posts about this individual topic. Even if his opinions of Nicki are swayed by what the media reports on, that doesn't mean he's racist. The media is flawed, the music industry is flawed, but elijahfan's comments don't necessarily point to him being a racist. 

 

I still don't think it was a PR stunt. People keep saying that because Nicki smiled she wasn't serious, but people do smile sometimes after a good drag, or when they're nervous. Smile=/=Fake.

yeah there was a livestream and she was suppose to perform and the radio guy dissed her  and said "starships isnt rap" (he didnt lie but she really got pissed that he embarrassed her in front of her fans and people watching it from home) so she didnt perform   then they talked about it in an interview

She didn't drag ha, that was obviously a joke Miley only stated her opinion and didn't mock or hurt Nicki in any way, so she wouldn't have a real reason to strike back.
