I heard Mackelmores new single Downtown on the radio today and I instantly thought of Kendricks's King Kunta.. Idk what do y'all think?

No, if anything, Macklemore is reductive of his own Thrift Shop (similar horns and style of rap and vibe). Especially at beginning. With more dance beats thrown in towards the middle, that are more typical pop than Kendrick.

Petula Clark still has the best Downtown song.

Yeah I hear thrift shop too, but there are some similarities between this and King Kunta. Wonder what Kendrick thinks.
