Bradley 59,150
The purpose of this thread is simply to a--lyze and discuss the competence of both artists. So please don't deviate from the topic of this thread and comment about how Gaga shouldn't focus on success etc., cause this is not what I had in mind while composing this thread.Adele was huge in 2011, we all know that, but is she really going to generate the same publicity and success this time? We all know Teenage Dream is more successful than Prism, can 25 be Adele's Prism, meaning that some hits will be produced but the album won't be as huge as 21?Award-wise, what do you think will happen if Gaga and Adele come face to face at the Grammys again? I know we don't have music from both artists yet but do you believe that Adele's vocals are once again going to make Gaga go empty handed at the 2017 Grammys? Is Gaga not able to compete with Adele? Is Adele really going to substantially affect Gaga (and other pop artists') career? In short, who's a threat to who in 2016? Gaga to Adele or Adele to Gaga? ARTPOPchamp 292
Why do they have to be threats to each other? This is what I'm talking about with the public and fans needing to change their mentality, the public always has to pit two great artists against each other and album against album, they can't just both exist because everyone is concerned with who will be number one on the chart or win some stupid award. They both make great music, they'll both have great albums, who cares who gets the top spot between the two, it's totally irrelevant to the quality of the music they make. Like what, are fans going to put down LG5 if Adele's new album tops it or vice versa? If they do, they are stupid, what chart position or publicity it garners is not a testament to the quality of the music.
SlaeUrAnus 15,970
25 will not be as successful as 21, but it will still stomp on every major release during the year. 25 will still be an enormous success compared to other albums. Award-wise, everyone loves Adele, from other artists to the general public because her songs are relatable, has an angelic voice, doesn't pull the stunts Gaga does and is one of the best songwriters of the 21st Century. I hate to say it, but Adele would win the Grammy's again, unless Gaga pulls something extraordinary on LG5. Don't come for me, but Adele is a threat to Gaga (along with many other artists). I wish they weren't though, but it is what the media do I guess. In my messy era.
Creyk 17,817
Adele with the opening week sales. But Gaga could have an era with better singles longevity and impact.I'd say they are equal. In regards to Grammys, Adele hands down. I don't know if you know, but the grammy commitee (the people who decide who should win) are complete morons. They will simply vote for Adele because is is what they are used to, unless she does something horrible with her next era. But I don't think she will. Why would you say something like this You are the one that needs to change his mentality. Awards do matter and if you say they don't then you are lying. If Gaga was a consistent award winner you would be shouting "YAASSSS QWEEN" from the rooftops and you know it.

I didn't mean to build up an adversarial atmosphere between Gaga and Adele, I listen to all artists and I enjoy all their music but yet I still compare them all the time. What's wrong with that? Head Empty 25,187
It all depends on the music. Gaga's next album is so unpredictable, that we can't judge whether or not it is Grammy material. And we also don't know in which direction Adele is going, as I doubt that she'll forever stick to the same tone of music. All I can say is: if Gaga delivers a vocal-heavy album, she'll definitely have a bigger shot than with BTW. Happiness will never last, darkness comes to kick your ass... ᵃˢˢ 🕺

Angel Down 2,807
As a fan of both, I think Adele is the real threat here to Gaga's success... Her songs are very relatable with the gp and of course after 21 which sold the enormous amount of 30m (still it's unbelievable to me) people will be more inclined to buying her music. I think her voice is amazing and her tone just totally unique, but let's be real Gaga has a more powerful voice and more versatile. If they vocally compete Gaga is bound to prevail, especially with her rockish voice. But I really dk... It's been 5 years since 21, so the success might be of the same level as well or even bigger.By the way, still praying there's an Adele ft Gaga collab in 25 and LG5

Iwontell 7,312
They're so differente...they're not a threat to each other at all...I love both ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

Born To Slay 10,996
I don't know, it's been years since Adele's last album. The public has largely forgotten about her. She'll need to have good marketing to be a smash.
