Does it disgust you how little some monsters learned from BTW?

I feel the same actually. it's actually sad that to see so many people trying to bully others when they are themselves are might belong to a minority or face bullying themselves. It's sad.

I'm not buying the idea of other fans learning from BTW.

If you're being nice to people because Gaga told you so, that's even more ridiculous. You should discover the value of kindness, bravery, tolerance,... on your own, in your life, from experience, not because some pop star made dubious references to them.

It's far from disgusting. If you expected everyone will stop bullying each other because of Born This Way, well, you were wrong. I'm not saying it's okay to be a bully but it's impossible that one song will change everyones perspective.

It's nice to see that it helped you, but some people (including myself) have really low self esteem and you can't expect everyone to be like "i love myself!!!" after listening to Born This Way. It does help to some extent, but not 100% for everyone.

Yeah, I guess I'm a bit naive. I think animal abuse, corporate domination and world hunger could all be ended in our life times. So forgive me for thinking that ours fanbase would be mostly free of bullying after Gaga dedicated an entire era to it and even met with Obama to discuss it.

Now as far as the latter half goes, this thread isn't directed at people who still feel insecure, it's directed at people who still bully. I know that people feel bad about themselves and that they need a lot of effort and time to change that. I still feel a little insecure. I don't think I'm that attractive, I'm as thin as a ****ing tooth pick and other things (size issues if you catch my drift). So I completely understand and would never bash anyone for being insecure. Thank god, I'm not that insecure anymore and I've accepted that these superficial things don't matter and I'm almost done undoing society's evil programming.

Yeah I noticed that, I'm talking about the fanbase. I remember feeling very good and comfortable when in Gaga fans company around BTW, but today, it's another story. It's like in btw era they were like "spread love, breed compassion" and when the era ended: "ow screw that shiz the era is over, **** you fat, eat**** skinny b---hes, your dick cut? Bye...11@!!!"

it's disgusting tbh :smh:

This is exactly how I feel. Like they just placated Gaga during the era. And thanks for mentioning the dick part at the end, penis shaming makes me sicker then any form of body shaming for some reason.

A pop star is not going to teach people manners :rip:

if you think of her as nothing more than just a "pop star" then that might be where the confusion begins. Of course Gaga can. She has helped SO MANY PEOPLE through her music, her speeches, her passion, and so much more. Obviously there's going to be a huge group of people who will just be there for the music and the lyrics will go one ear and out the other. But if she can, or has changed at least ONE person, then that's amazing. One person can't eliminate bullying from one song/album. But the overall message of this thread is that some fans have just totally lost any maturity or kindness that they may have developed or at least pretended to have during the BTW era. People started to get really catty and shady in the last couple of years and it's sad that the message from one of Gaga's biggest songs and albums has seemed to fade. She even continued it with the Body Revolution thing. And still is continuing it with the Born This Way Foundation. She's not just some singer who walks into a studio and records Vocals for a song that took 20 people to write. She works so hard and is more than just a singer. She's an activist. An artist. A performer. A dancer. An actress. And more. And she's helped so many people. I could go on forever. I guess it just bugs me when people say she's "just a pop star" because she's far more than that and that's why she's stands out infront of the other "pop girls".

I agree with the bolded and people like Gaga can influence those things.

Anyway, you didn't even get Gaga's movement to begin with. As she clearly stated, she is in no way interested to judge the bully and help the victim. She shows more compassion for bullies than you, probably because she understands, unlike you apparently, that bullying comes from insecurity. You say you would never bash anyone for being insecure but here you made an entire thread implying that (insecure) people who bully are "disgusting".

So make your pick. You either hate bullying (which makes you unqualified to represent BTW as an album and a movement) or you extend your (momentarily limited) compassion to people who bully instead of calling them out.

Okay fine, I'll extend compassion to bullies but they should stop and need to be called out for their crimes against humanity.

The people who don't listen to her obviously don't see her as more than a pop star though :rip: Even during her Body Revolution project people were just taking selfies of their toned bodies on LM.com. When Gaga called for compassion for Bieber, 90% of this forum turned on her, including the people who support Gaga's basic views on bullying.

People pick and choose how they wanna see Gaga as it comes in handy to them. When what Gaga says contradicts an opinion they hold dear, they come up with the "she's an artist, I don't need to agree with her 24/7", when there's agreement they feel aligned with her as a philanthropist. But you'd be a fool to think that there is an altruistic component in the way Gaga's fans see and use her to solidify their sense of self.

You know, a man once told me that everything you say before the word "but" doesn't count. In this case it so clearly applies it's actually entertaining.

Good for her, she's still just a pop star.

Yes because everything is so black and white. Look it's tragic that some people are pushed into hurting others however we can't just let them off the hook.

I didn't say we should let them off the hook. But this thread is actually what BTW is not about yet the thread title implies that you actually understood its message to a perfect degree.

Think again is all I'm saying.
