And who are you to begin with? Taylor's friend? I guess not

does being a fan make any difference?

She will perform for free for her friend though :hunty:  :later:

ok but generally people who are supposed "money grubbing b---hes" and are "greedy above anything else" would take the money. She didn't.

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

Tell me where in my post I said I did know her. I was simply pointing out that discussing a topic is fine, but coming to a final conclusion and acting as if you know what's going on in the persons head is laughable. :bye:

I don't have to personally know Taylor to be able to call out her hypocrisy and greediness, and to despise her as a person and her music. I mean, I don't personally know ISIS, Donald Trump, and etc. I personally know nothing of their actions, intentions, or personally know how they live their lives and what goes through their head. But does that mean that I cannot observe and read between the lines myself and despise them, their actions, intentions, and their tin-foot existence.

You can absolutely 100% do that, but you act as if your opinion on what they do is fact and that is completely false.

Didn't she also turn down $15M for that Armani campaign? When will other pop stars who shade her about money and using guns in music videos when they do the same thing :green:

She probably found it low.

OMG who is rich enough to (try to) hire the biggest popstar in the moment to sing at their wedding??

She turned down a stranger's request for no apparent reason whatsoever unless you link it to publicity...and then decided to perform at a friend's christening for free. I don't know, supporting a friend for free isn't nearly as noble as charging them is demented. These two situations aren't comparable. If she's trying to prove a point, I think less of her that she would be rejecting people's offers just to make it look like she doesn't care so much about money.

I like Taylor but idk. Her fans stan unanimously for everything she does as a messiah (except Spock of course, as he so sweetly enlightened me :neyde:) and it's kinda delusional at times. Like the fact that Bad Blood, if written by any other artist, would be seen as juvenile, tacky and immature, suddenly once someone like Taylor writes it, all morality goes out the door because YAS STFU TAYLOR'S SLAYING YOUR FAVE #1. It's this hypocrisy to try to stan for her no matter how flexible one has to be logically that bothers me.

I don't think she was trying to prove a point, she was simply picking her friend and her commitment to that friend over two million dollars. It's as simple as that.

That last paragraph is not unique to Taylor fans. The exact same thing could be said about every fanbase. On this site, there is evidence of this with of course Gaga stans, then with Madonna, Katy, Azealia (especially before the last label drop), Arianna, and Beyonce stans. There are stans of these artists that throw out all logic when it comes to their fave or faves. You seem to be really bothered by the small handful of "illogical Taylor stans", when this stan culture is evident all over this site for many artists. Delusion runs rampant here at GGD, through all the fanbases!

Yawn. Another publicity stunt article to soften the recent backlash that's been building against her. Her team just won't let up with this "she's sweet to others" schtick. Other than this and breaking records, her team can't seem to spin out any other positive article on her. I'm surprised this even made news as it wouldn't have been for any other artist. It's all phrased in a very misleading way too, as if she did a christening gig for someone she didn't know for free when it was her own godson. There's a good chance that the wedding part was made up. It just said it was for a billionaire. Well, if that's so, what's their name? Most billionaires have some level of fame and can be easily identified. If the list of singers who have performed for dictators in closely guarded nations have been identified, why can't a regular billionaire? If this story had been released to the press by the spurned billionaire, you'd think they'd make their name known. Working class people do that, why not billionaires? It doesn't even mention if the wedding and the christening were scheduled for the same day (it's implied, but not officially stated). So, for all we know, this could be completely fabricated by Taylor's team. If it is true, if both events were scheduled for the same day, I don't think her chosing the christening really proves she's not all about the money. I think if the godmother of a baby doesn't show up at the christening because they were busy making $2 million performing for a random elsewhere, she would be blacklisted by the family forevermore. Of course she showed up, it's her moral duty. If the events were further apart however, that's a different story, but it's never explained. And maybe the lack of explantation suggests that it the wedding part is made up. I laugh at how it even had to be clarified that she did the christening gig for free. She's the godmother of her friend's baby. What's she going to do, charge her?

I gather that I'm making it sound as if Taylor can't win either way (if she did the wedding, she's a soulless money grabber, if she did the christening gig for free, it's a nonstory), but all I'm pointing out is that there's so much transparancy to an article like this. Just like that Ronan article the other day. One minute, due to the Twitter fight, Taylor's accused of being a bad person, so along comes an article about how sweet she is to people. Due to Taylor's recent brushes with claims that she's all about the money, an article appears about how she turns down multimillion dollar gigs to go to a chritening. It has "damage control" written all over it.

Exactly. Somehow, when it comes to artists, people like to go all high and mighty and be all: "Who are you to judge someone you don't know?" As if artists are gods for singing a tune or two. The irony is that people who chastise others for judging are usually the biggest judges themselves.

Those fans have their issues too, but the Taylor ones at this particular moment are proving to be the most grating. I'm simply pointing out the ones who are causing the most annoyance at this moment in time. Honestly, if Lana started slaying tomorrow, I would be reserved about it all around here and keep my adoration strictly on her designated fan threads where haters won't go. Why? Because this is a site dedicated to another artist and it would be bad form to go around rubbing her success in everyone's faces, especially those who don't like her. Is there nowhere to take shelter from the love-in of an artist you don't like? Out of all the places these fans could choose to be smug, they do it on a Gaga fansite. So, I'd argue that we have every right to complain about their lack of consideration.

All five of them? Lol

Please...they are just bothering you because you spend so much time reading every word they say in every thread created about Taylor. I see far more threads and information on Katy, Madonna, and Lana on a consistent basis on this site. Lana threads dominate the entertainment section every time she has an era, it's just her last one fizzled out so fast. Katy threads dominated here for months and months and they will come back as soon as she starts doing something other than touring. Same thing with Madonna during her last rather short era. All the stans of these girls are smug on here...a Gaga fansite. It's all the same! You have every right to complain, but this is not a situation unique to just Taylor.

If you want shelter from the Taylor talk...don't click on her threads! Is it really that hard? Instead you are one of the main contributors in almost every thread about her! You are talking out of both sides of your mouth here..."I want shelter from news about Taylor, yet I'm going to spend my time clicking on every thread about her, and then write essays about her, and respond to multiple comments...so that my comments end up on several pages of the thread! How does that make sense?

If you are really and truly tired of talking about her, click on something else! Choose to spend your time on something or someone else!

This is why it's suspicious to me. And honestly, a musician turning down wedding gigs isn't something that elevates them to super-nice-doesn't-care-about-money status. Artists get offered to do this pretty frequently. If refusing to sing at a wedding indicates "Totally NOT Greedy" status, then I'm sure one of these articles could be written about literally every popstar who has a stan on this site.

.

What are you talking about? That wasn't an article, it was a blog post on Ronan's mother's personal blog. Do you think Taylor personally routed her tour to that area months in advance in anticipation for damage control?
