Following the success of Jay-Z, Drake, and of course Beyoncè do you think it would be beneficial for Gaga to surprise release her album out of nowhere? Discuss.

It's science, bitch

No because I love the wait and hype that comes with single releases, music videos and performances.

Born This Way > Joanne > The Fame Monster > The Fame > ARTPOP

no because that would mess up her single success, and that's pretty crucial this era

I don't think so.

She should keep things "secrets" and THEN when the album is ready and she has the release date all set and a great era/plan in mind, start the hyping : post short snippets, official shoots, first single, artwork, etc. Good hype will help sell the album and keep people interested.

Also, WHY does an album sells much because it's a surprise release? I mean, Beyonce and Drake surprise released their albums and i wasnt like "omg it's a surprise release, lemme buy it :neyde: "

She should announce a release date and then... BAM!!! Surprise release a week early.

Its a powerful marekting tool, but only certain artists can pull it off.

**** all these twisted release strategies, I want her to release LG5 in a very classic way. Reasonable hype, formal announcement and release a couple months later.

Mister Gaga

NO. Lets be honest, no one would buy it (aside from fans). She needs a smash RedOne hit with a good video, good promo ala Cheek to Cheek and good reviews from the GP. That's the formula.

i don't care, tbh.  i'm here for the music and her visions. if she manages to stay true to both, i'll be happy.

No, I much prefer traditional releases. There are more promotional opportunities available. Plus, the single releases go more smoothly and are more supported on Pop radio. Traditional releases work best for pop artists.
