Nestorwashere 2
Agreed. One problem with Gaga/Interscope is that they tend to drop albums quite fast. I mean, look at her albums before and after. The Fame and Fame Monster should have had more singles to capitalize on the popularity she had at that time. Look at Katy Perry. People loved teenage dream and her label kept giving them more singles and videos. Then we have the BTW era. Her best album, best message, best everything. But Gaga seems very dissapointed all of a sudden and cracks under the pressure. Then we have ARTPOP which was a continuation of that.IMO btw was a really full era with amazing visuals and lots of promo, but I just hate that gaga believed the hype about how she needs to do something less serious and more frivolous. ARTPOP is a direct result of that insecurity. The cheap EDM sound says it all and the single choices do, too.All in all, both gaga and interscope need to believe in their work and stop being quitters.that's because Capitol records could be the best label they produced the Beatles, frank Sinatra, the beach boys, Dean Martin etcthey created legends and icons inter scope did great in the 200s with eminem for example don't know what's going on now And I agree with your post lady gaga needs to stop Caring what others say
DiscoHeaven23 35,007
I can def see where your coming from. One thing I LOVE about ARTPOP is that it redeemed Born This Way. I do recall people saying negative things about Born This Way. But as soon as ARTPOP came out, people were like "oh sh*t, Born This Way wasn't that bad". It's definitely become more beloved as time has gone on. I would consider it a classic album
Benji 20,113
One of the saddest moment of the BTW was when Gaga let her disappointment with how the public reacted the the era show in that sold out concert in London when she went like "Oh, look how Born This Way was a huge flop!". She was trying to drag the critics but it kinda revealed how she was bitter about everything too. It's because of things like this, and for the fact she has been so outspoken about being a successful POP STAR since the beginning that I find it hilarious when people try and say she wasn't being serious when she said ARTPOP is just an album of made-to-be-hits. She's always been obsessed with her success, her shouting out "F*CK YOU POP MUSIC!" just shows how bloody obsessed with it she truly is. It's not a bad thing, I'm glad she's aware of her success and is trying to please certain people, it's just the denial from her when ARTPOP didn't take off and a few fans that's bloody painful. Can't wait to see how this fanbase changes if she manages to smash with LG5 and she suddenly becomes a little more comfortable with being pop again

But then ARTPOP sold even less and then BTW became the new TFM. If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.
Bad Bromance 5,809
I really loved the Born This Way era!! It was one of my favorite eras of all time. The songs, the videos, and the promo were all on point, IMO. Some people didn't like the vids for TEOG and MTN but I loved them all! Can't wait for LG5 to be released so I can bop to Gaga's new music! I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.
Kacey Elizabeth 900
Now that I think about it, it breaks my heart, and even makes me want to cry. Gaga had so many plans for Born This Way and ARTPOP eras, and the feeling of having so much in mind for your fans and your art and then getting it all shut down must be so heart-breaking, terrible and sad. Gaga deserves so much better treatment and results than what she and her fans got in those two eras. :( But she's in a happier place in her life now. She's soon to be married to the love of her life, is still performing, is having fun with Asia and her family members, is about to star in AHS, toured with Tony (who really helped her), and is working on LG5 with a better team and management. She's probably even already thinking about forming a family with Taylor. Let's look forward to what life and universe have to offer for her and what's in her future, both personally and musically. PopBitch 1,218
Born This Way is still amazing and shows her greatness. It will be better received as time goes on. Some of the great albums weren't revered back at the time by critics. Born This Way got great reviews, but it will be held in even higher regard as time goes on. It's not album of the decade, but it shows her talent in spades.
kaojen 1,571
There was some negativity at the beginning with Express Yourself comparisons and Judas biblical wanking. However, TEOG and Y&I despite being crapped on about their videos by this fanbase and haters, did well musically. I still hear both songs on the radio from time to time and in public. Despite negativity the album did well for me and others. Focusing on all of the haters meant you were not paying attention to what was going right and letting yourself enjoy the music, message, and era. I pretty much enjoyed the era to the fullest tbh. But it was impossible to ignore the sad climate and it all got worse when they shut down everything because the things were starting to get wrong.
