Will Taylor have her decline next era?

It's guaranteed that Taylor will flop eventually. Everybody flops. Some people start out their careers as flops. Some people just Magikarp their way through life because flopping is all they can do. At least TayTay started out with good foundations and only went up. She's had nine straight years of success. I applaud her for managing that. :applause::applause:

I can imagine 10 years from now when she has a genuine flop and pop forum members are like "HAHAHA TAYLOR FLOPPED GUESS SHE ISN'T SO BIG ANYMORE" it's like congrats it took 20 years but you finally had your moment I guess :toofunny:  Everyone will flop but it's stupid to act like the flop is a victory for you when it was preceded by a LONG and mega successful career

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

She's super overexposed rn, I can imagine a decline in the next two albums. But lbr, her music and image is not hard to digest, doesn't push any buttons; she's more similar to Katy and very different from Gaga in that sense. It'll take the GP (specifically the States) a while before they get tired of her.

I wasn't talking about you, another member who I will not name, but they know who they are :stalkga:

honestly your posts arent that bad, sometimes you make good points (Even if they are put a bit harshly :rip: ), but you at least say your opinion in a respectable way without spamming the post with emojis and flat out insults

Unlike some people :stalkga:

Oh, well, it could easily be me, I've as good as said things to this effect before.

Yes, I can be a very harsh critic, especially to Taylor. But I only do it because I care about music. I don't say it to be mean, it's out of the need to hear quality. If we don't voice our concerns about a decline in quality, we won't see changes. Bad critical reception and bad sales can get an artist the slap upside the head they need to come back with something better. Some artists have actually admitted that the negativity made them see the light and spurred them on to fulfil their potential. And I just wish more people could be a bit more honest to Taylor. Not only has she known nothing but success her entire career, she has known nothing but praise too. If she ever got a mixed critical reception a la Bionic, ARTPOP or Born To Die, it could either crush her or her ego will be so strong that she'll insist they must be wrong. Either way, too much praise for too long could have a negative effect. It already has, actually. Even after her second (second!) album, she was already taking things personally with a critic who said she couldn't sing by making a song about him for Speak Now. And the thing is, critics praised it. There was some displeasure voiced, but it was rare. I thought critics of all people, would be very protective of their right to free speech and their right to call out artists for flaws, which is their job.

But anyway, I'm glad people see my posts as at least respectable. Note that I never call the artist names or wish ill upon them. I only critique the music and their personality only gets critiqued if it shows itself badly through the lyrics.

even though I don't always agree with you I always respect your opinion, because you always write well thought out posts while staying respectful, and without using stupid gifs, emojis and calling artists names

Well, anything that goes up must come down and nobody can stay on top forever and ever.  Eventually she will decline but I don't think it's going to be any time soon.  Tay-Tay's power right now is undeniable.

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

I said she didn't have subtance and got a wp :lmao:

I mean, I can accept she is damn pretty, good songwriter, sings kind of well, plays guitar, has some pretty good bops and 1989 is great pop album... but does she have something to say? Is there something in her music more profound than just writing songs about the guys she's dated? If people want to give her succes, go ahead, I kinda like her. I will not be pressed... I even want to see her on tour.

But I said and I will say it again, the girl has no substance in her "art". :trollga:

love and navigating the harsh realities of relationships of relationships both romantic and platonic are something substantial and something every human experiences and deals with. Singing about Koons and the Abromavic method aren't the only way for art to be "substantial" :toofunny:

1989 is a slightly above average album at best ... But its performance and sales wet phenomenal. I feel she has a lot to live up to when she releases her next album, and the media will definitely be drawing comparisons to 1989... I highly doubt she will be able to match the performance of 1989 especially since she is so overexposed now... I hce a feeling she will be having an ARTPOP era next... Not as disastrous but definitely a huge step down performance wise. But I guess time will tell....

At some point, the only way is down :trollga:

Couldn't agree more. Right now, it's hard to see how Taylor could outdo herself for her next era, at least in term of sells.

Adele knows that, and that's certainly one of the main reasons for her absence (private life put aside).
