According to a recent Poll, they narrowly beat Kylie and Madonna. Ggaa was sixth. Note isn't about who is most popular with gays - it's about which acts are liked by adult gay men at a higher rate than other adults.

Maybe the gays who said 1D are not particularly into music fandom, but just mentioned the lads because they were hot.

Also, I bet 1D have fewer straight adult male and female fans that Kylie or Madonna. It's all teen and tween females.

Doesn't surprise me. When I went to their concert, most of the people in standing around me were 18+ and I'd say the gender difference between men and women weren't that different.
