Whispering 18,865 Posted August 9, 2015 Share Posted August 9, 2015 We are talking about people's reaction to Miley's videos (which is what she was talking about at the first place), regardless of her getting nominated for and winning the Video of the Year MTV VMA award. People's reactions to Miley's videos (and her performances and appearance around that time) were a direct correlation of the "good girl going bad" narrative. People wanted to watch and make comments about the Disney Girl showing her titties. If it was Rihanna, people wouldn't have cared near as much. Same thing Miley did at the VMAs two years ago...made shock one of the main components of her performance. Miley milked that "Disney Girl gone wild" angle for all it was worth, and now she is complaining about the attention it got...the attention that she was seeking in the first place. Her stunts worked and she ended up with lots of attention, record-breaking videos and two hits. Miley knew what she was doing and she milked it for all it was worth. That's fine and it certainly never bothered me (and for the record I defended her on this site), but she should own it now, instead of pretending like she was shocked with the reactions. They all seem to hate each other now. Meanwhile, Gaga sits back and watches while she polishes her GRAMMYs and posts Vines of horses dancing to Vanessa Carlton.
