Versace 7,979
She plans to end the tour in December of this year (if she doesn't add any more dates). This doesn't make much sense to me tbh. Wildest Dreams (the 5th single) will get released this month, and from the gap that she took between singles this era, I'm guessing she'll release the 6th single in October or November, and after that...? I mean, after a tour ends, are its will no longer release singles from that album.Anyway, as some other members pointed it out, if this really is true, she'll eventually become overexposed (as if she isn't overexposed enough right now) and the general public will ultimately get tired of her, and her singles might underperform compared to her other singles from this era, or they might even flop. i'm sure the tour will extend into 2016 along with the two final singles as i predict 8 in total , i think she'll wrap up the tour and the final single around MAY of 2016. Her new album supposedly should be out November 2016 but i doubt it therefor i wouldn't be surprised if the album gets a re-release (not that it needs it but just to give fans material) and the new album out November 2017. Regardless of that , i assume you're a Katy fan then the 1989 era should be really familiar as it screams Teenage Dream era, can't you see what you're saying about Taylor happened to Katy, she got 5 number one's and 8 singles in total over the corse of 3 years, if that doesn't spell overexposed i don't know what does. The effects of this were clear during the Prism Era even though some songs slayed like Roar and Dark Horse many underperformed for her standards such as Unconditionally, Birthday and This Is How We Do. So Taylor will be fine in my opinion , she's not gonna expect endless number ones , no one does.

So Taylor will be fine in my opinion , she's not gonna expect endless number ones , no one does. Katy's 5 #1 singles from Teenage Dream were consecutive. Style did not made it to #1 on Billboard Hot 100, and no. Teenage Dream and 1989 eras are not similar. Katy did not became as overexposed as Taylor has become this era. It wouldn't be far away until Taylor becomes overexposed enough and people will see her true colors and get over her. Thus that will lead to her future singles underperforming (at least in comparison). Plus, Katy did not release eight singles from Teenage Dream. She released 6. The other two were released from the reissue album, Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection. Teenage Dream and Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection were two separate eras. A lot of people count them as one because TDTCC was a re-release of TD, but in reality, they were separate eras. Katy was very big and popular in the TD era, but she never became overexposed. Everything Taylor does or says now makes headlines, and she and her contents get endless [artificial and fake for the most part] acclaim. That was not the case with Katy in 2010-2011. It does seem to me that Taylor tried to recreate Katy's success and impact from the Teenage Dream era, though. But I think Taylor's attempt at that will slap back, and it wouldn't end well for her. When Unconditinally was released, Roar, Dark Horse and Walking On Air were slaying, so it got overshadowed. If Katy waited for Roar, DH and WOA to die out a little bit and then released Unconditionally, I'm sure it would've done better. Birthday underperformed for many reasons. It's music video, lack of promo (literally, no actual promo except for a pre-recorded performance at the Billboard Music Awards), and Dark Horse still slaying & dominating at the time of it's release caused it to underperform. This Is How We Do had absolutely NO PROMOTION. I'm sure if Katy or her record label promoted it, it would've at least been a top 10 hit. StrawberryBlond 14,880
Interesting. No re-release, just make a ton of singles from the one album. Apart from Bad and Come On Over, I can't think of many other albums that were successful with this model. If you release that many with no re-release, people will be more likely to forget them, I feel. Also, as time goes on, they'll feel there's less of a point in buying the album as they already have over half the tracklist in single form. It would certainly show if she can keep her momentum going and how much ammo she can get out of an album with no re-release, but still. I think the public need re-releases these days to make later singles successful. She really wasn't messing about - she wants to beat Katy's record and if she wants to be in with a chance, she can't re-release or it'll count as a whole new album. But I really don't think she will now. Too many people have bought the album. Even Adele couldn't pull out #1's so late into her album cycle because her album sales were simply too high. By the looks of this, she'll keep promoting 1989 right up until her next release. Bad idea as it means she'll be so overexposed by then, it won't even be funny. Rihanna used to follow up her last single with her new lead single and it resulted in the worst overexposure and led her to the mess she's in right now. Cody Draco 2,531
I truly hope the next 3 singles are New Romantics, I Know Places and AYHTDWS. Off topic but Bob's Burgers is my favorite show. Slay Linda Belcher slay.
DeleteMyAccount 11,881
This is definitely more than the average amount of singles per album but surely not crazy. Shania's Come on Over had 12 singles. Of course she sold like 20 mil WW. I don't think Taylor will be overexposed. It just depends on the promo and of course her team knows how to deal with that. boyerased 2,886
She's on the verge of overexposure but she can counterreact this not by not releasing any more singles but by staying away from issues that will keep her in the news. It started when she had that Nicki thing and one or two more issue will certainly result to backlash and overexposure.
