how can you say with certainty that it would "ruin her career"? and gaga's voice is very versatile and obviously her songwriting style would have to change.

ok but do you not think she'll be throwing away the pop legacy she been building for the last near decade? i think she shouldn't go out full punk-rock because it's just not pragmatic, maybe have some punk/rock influences on the new album but don't let the sonic of the album be defined by that genre alone.

yeah i realised so i changed my answer sorry venting  but no i don't think gaga could pull that off, I think she needs to reinvent her sound with a more minimal electronica-house-pop inspired sound like Years & Years has, i love Communion and think she'd suit a stripped down sound like that

that's not "full out punk-rock" lmao i listed the genres in the op. And i highly doubt Gaga cares about any "pop legacy". Her legacy is creativity and pushing boundaries, and in my opinion, this sound would help her expand her label.
