One of my favorite genres - EBM (child of industrial music) is very robotic, processed and lifeless. I enjoy its dehumanization. Not every emotion needs to be raw. People should listen to whatever touches them. Even a ****ing piece of wood - don't forget that exists such genre as noise.

He has a very valid point. Music today has no soul. It's so perfect that you cannot tell it was made BY HUMANS, FOR HUMANS. Back in the day, you had to be a monster of a musician to do great stuff. THAT was impressive. And let's not talk about the fact that pop music (in general) keeps being recycled all the time(Dr Luke, Max Martin, etc...)

It's sad that autotune can make talentless people famous nowadays. 

And talented people don't get recognition for their pipes anymore.

This is a common sentiment by many musicians outside of pop. I'm sure though you could find at least one pop song they all like, even if it's a guilty pleasure.

No. Are you serious? No. NO! NOOOO! Lana vs Slipknot is NO competition. Everyone saying ANYTHING to put rock down CONSIDER WHAT Gaga is a fan of. Who she likes to go on stage with, that's rock, metal... Gaga is rock/pop/metal based. If you want to discredit the fact that none of the instruments are machines on their early albums circa early thousands, go ahead. But lana live... Is an INSULT in comparison. The showmanship, craftsmanship in the music, lyricism AND HUMOR that goes into slipknot NO! You are, indeed INCORRECT my fellow monster. Do you KNOW their entire discography?

Just because you make different music to what's on the radio it doesn't mean that pop artists don't work hard. I find this whole view to be completely absurd, you are not the omniscient being of music and who the **** are you to say that other people don't work hard just because their music is different to yours? Pop music currently is FLOODED with talent and frankly nobody on the radio at the moment is using autotune.

Gaga's rock influence and performances interest me little and I personally find Lana to be a much better lyricist/overall artist than Slipknot. I've certainly heard Slipknot many times before as well as seen live videos and I stand by my point. I have a different idea of talent and it's not for you to say I'm incorrect for my opinion.

Not really. Corey is a much better live singer than Lana and everyone in that band are great musicians. Slipknot is definitely much more talented than Lana.

I know that it's Slipknot's "thing" to be all anti-popular and anti-beautiful, so I shouldn't be taking this too seriously, but (incoming rant)...

I just find it funny how he denounces anything that is marketed for mass consumption, when Slipknot's entire premise makes them one of the most marketable bands in modern rock. LOOK at them perform, for Christ's sake. I like their music, they can all play their instruments, but come on. What they "stand for" in the industry is absolute bullsh*t; their entire success is founded upon their meticulously managed look, and their accessible pop metal. They are in no position to judge pop artists for perfecting their musical product to appeal to a wider audience, when they've spent their entire career doing so (unveiling their new masks was bigger than ARTPOP!). Speaking publicly about the decline of popular music and reeling off buzzwords like "autotune" only adds to their own image. Tbh, they're they biggest hypocrites in rock at the moment and interviews like this only make them seem like even more of a joke.

Now I'm off to listen to Psychosocial.
