Why do people hate Dope when this performance exists? (Appreciation Thread)

When did I say anybody cares? I'm just telling that teenager that just because I love britneys music and have her as my avatar doesn't mean I can't judge on vocals. Let me guess you guys are going to ask me to upload an audio file on soundcloud and say "lets hear you sing!"  I can't with the sensitivity on this site or gaga fans in general.

I respect your opinion but Dope's vocals were intentionally sung that way. I don't think it was Gaga's incapability of delivering great vocals, it's your incapability of relating the message of the song to Gaga's way of portraying it - her voice. She could use her The Sound of Music voice to sing Dope but that wouldn't make any sense nor would it be an excellent interpretation since she was channeling her pain and sadness.

I simply adore Dope. My favourite from the album.The song is not made to be 'pretty' and her voice there is not supposed to be mind-meltingly beautiful but the song is about addiction after all. There's nothing beautiful there.

This. When will people understand that the vocals were intentionally sung in a rough way?

Just because there's a meaning behind the vocals, doesn't suddenly make it pleasant to my ears

I understand that she intentionally sung it that way but in my opinion its almost like she tried too hard to make it sound like an unplugged song from a rock album. You can hear her emotion in the song but I still think its awful. The speechless demo is where you can really hear her emotions poured out on the song and I thought it was beautiful and melancholic. It depends on who relates to the song and what not I guess.

I don't even think ARTPOP has a main sound. All of the songs sound nothing alike

because people prefer the pretty gaga songs where she's singing all normal and basic like. They don't like different sounding vocals. Now if the vocals for dope were sung like I wanna be with you, everyone would be shoving the song up their ass because she sung that song normally. Which is bull**** because people do not appreciate gaga experimenting and trying new things with her voice

"I played it out loud" basically friends that heard the song. I know, but I mean the songs differ greatly in sound.
