A lot of people that became famous then are still young but they've been in the industry for almost 20 years. If anything Britney had a long running career since her career aged pretty well compared to Xtinct, Avril Lavigne and her other contemporaries back then. Britney can flop all she wants now but she already proved the world what she was made out of and thats all that matters. Mariah is very unsuccessful now and doesnt sing that well anymore neither but you cant deny her legendary status. Same goes for Madonna. Britney, Madonna, Mariah, Janet jackson will never be over since they have a loyal large following due to their icon status. Really the only person that has been around for a while, that can still sell records and have successful eras is justin timberlake but his decline might arrive soon since good things come to an end eventually.
