so katy perry's and lady gaga's stage design are the same as U2 360, Taylor Swift's Red Tour, Madonna's MDNA, Kylie Minogue's Aphrodite Tour? They all have catwalks to form a pit.

No one was calling anyone stupid, atleast not to their face anyway

Yes, except for U2's 360° tour because it was central which made the staging completely different, all others is the same concept, only each developed differently.

Reported as you're implying I'm stupid, when I guarantee I know a lot more about staging, production, and touring than you :lmao: U2 and Taylor's pits are very different. Madonna, Katy, and Gaga's are all the same concept stage wise. The way the stage is layed out. I don't get you can't see that :wtf:

Simple as that. I'm not talking about the props, screens, set-ups. I'm talking about the stage itself. It's the same concept, end of story. I'm dying to hear how it's not :awkney:

So because they are both a stage and have runways that join together they are both the same (even though one is a triangle and one is a pentagon)? If that is your logic then Taylor's stage and pit were the same concept: she has a stage with runways that join together to form a pit. If you can't see that taylor belongs in the same concept category as them then i don't know how you can possibly think that you "know a lot more about staging, production, and touring than i do". :reductive2:

And your the one throwing a tantrum because someone is disagreeing with you and you think your being called stupid. I'm not being childish about the fact you think i'm brainwashed proves what sort of character you have . I don't need to concern myself with people who instantly call someone names when they have a different point of view to you and their reasoning is logical. :bye:

Um, so U2 had a centre stage, with a catwalk that joined another catwalk which created a pit for the fans. I'm pretty sure thats the same concept except with a centre stage not an end stage

Ok... whatever... they're all PITS, one being pentagon-shaped doesn't make it objectively better than the other ones, especially the triangle-shaped , which you called "stupid"

They are all great stage productions, which one is better is a matter of subjective opinions. But one thing is for sure, none is STUPID!

Black point!

I was just trying to point out that you can't just pick and choose which ones have the same concept when they all follow the same principle: stage with catwalks enclosing a pit full of fans. i wasn't denying the fact that they all developed differently, except for katy perry's which is almost a copy of MDNA golden triangle.

i never said they weren't great stage productions, i was merely pointing out the flaw in an argument. I called the reflection section stupid because she charged people to gain access into it. Almost $100 more than regular GA just to get in, but if you want a good spot in the pit it cost over $500 to get early access into it. Gaga didn't charge people to get into her pit, she rewarded dedicated fans who lined up with entry into it, all they had to do was buy a GA ticket. Charging people to be trapped like sardines was what i was calling stupid

Alright, got you... Yep, Madonna did a similar thing to Gaga, she picked devoted fans (tattoed ones, regulary) and let them in the triangle, I dont know about other artists with pits, each their own. Now that you clarified, it makes a lot more sense, sorry!

I would think she'd wanna start her next era now :duck:

No one of her producers said she hasn't started working on next album and that she may take a break after the tour... So probably no new era until late 2016 or in 2017

$300 actually, not $500 and that was a VIP package. Who cares. It's not stupid. Not everyone is exactly like Gaga in those terms.

I'm not pretending that I'm an expert or anything, just that I've educated myself. But yes, in the current climate, I'd say artRave was "successful," especially for a pop tour by a female. The amount of high-selling pop shows in 2014 were kinda thin on the ground. Apart from Justin Timberlake, 1D and the and the second half of Bruno Mars's tour, pop tours just weren't selling well. Despite all the success Miley got recently (which ousted ARTPOP's success) and having the same amount of dates as artRave as well as the same sized venues, she made $21 million less with her tour, which I think is quite telling of how Gaga's selling power is underestimated.

As for her future tours, I think she could get back to her old level, though if she can beat the MB's gross is debatable. With the right music that the public reacts well to, promotion and positive PR, she could definitely pull out another tour as successful as BTWB again, though. I'm 100% positive that the next tour will gross at least $100 million. If artRave could make $83 million despite a lack of massive hits, 2.5 million worldwide sales, lack of promo and good PR, then imagine what she can do with a proper team behind her to give her a decent era? Even if the worst happens and the album isn't successful, it could easily outgross artRave as all her Asian and Latin American fans will be missing her as she basically didn't tour these regions and Asians especially will pay big bucks for her shows. Not to mention countries/cites that she left out in Europe like Finland, Madrid and the rest of France outwith Paris and basically the whole of middle America and of course, New Zealand. I think that's why the tour was so short and left out some really obvious places - if she makes certain areas miss her, she'll sell out like crazy in these regions next time, probably with demand for second, maybe even third dates. That's what I had to keep reminding myself when the tour failed to hit the 100 million mark. It'll all be worth it with the next tour, trust me.

Thanks for this great response! Sorry, I just noticed that you wrote this haha. I'm relieved to see that Gaga has established herself as a sustainable touring act. I want to feel assured that I'll be able to see her tour for her future releases :)

Guess she didn't add more dates in London after all, disappointed in you Ms. Hudson :excuseu:

I kind of wanted her to do a smaller US leg again because I wanted to see the show :laughga:

I hope this is true. It seems likely bc with Madonna's tours she's ignored Australia for years and now that she's finally touring down there she'll sell out like crazy. The Rebel Heart tour in Aus. will have a huge run in Oceania I bet.

no, and it may not actually. the tour is somewhere around the 190-200million mark and its only missing 8 shows (the average she makes is  a little over 1.3 million per show), which will only give her around 16 million. around a total of 220 will be the final grossing of the PWT. gaga grossed a little over 250 million with TMB
