Did you actually think Gaga was going to be there? And I'm sure you, obviously, haven't listened to any of Carly's album. It might be nice to take a listen before passing judgement. Even then, who are you to completely dismiss her as an artist?

After the European Games performance anything is possible and yes I have and it's not something I fancy.  I also have seen Carly in concert.  Just doesn't do anything for me.  That's just me though.  Stating my opinion.

I can vouch because I too have seen Chvrches live.  The energy was great and danced for an hour.  Again, my opinion.

I think you guys should cut Carly some slack. Her songs are not complex, but they're catchy and harmless. She has a really nice personality and a good attitude.  She isn't part of any feuds between your faves so I'm sure she hasn't offended anyone in any way. She's just trying to make it as a pop artist so I'm sure this event is a big deal for her. Just because it's not the Olympics doesn't mean that it deserves any less respect for the performers and the event itself. Just cut it off.....maybe?

my point was that she doesn't have to be promoting something to play at an event. It's really that simple. And no I don't think she was just called up on stage spontaneously. Bono and Gaga definitely talked about the performance before the show.   It still doesn't mean she was " promoting" anything???!!
