I think career wise they might mean that like- her promises and sometimes overhyping (although thankfully not for LG5 so far) can kinda end badly and not come through & she gets dragged by haters for things like "album of the decade" and what not.

I don't think it was Gaga's intention to (over)hype the album too early tbh. The fanbase hyped itself. The whole ARTPOP-disapointment was not Gaga's fault. You have to blame Interscope for that. They made her change the whole album.

well i've already said my thoughts on the way the ARTPOP era turned out before in another thread so i won't say it here and cause arguments but I agree, we self-hype too much.

I voted for Troy Carter because it seems that he actually negatively affected Gaga's career. Rob Fusari comes second, but I don't think he has any more power over Gaga and her career.

Now, if the question was about Gaga's biggest rival, I'd vote for Katy (with Madonna second in line).

I think her second biggest enemy is the media and hipster "journalism" (Noisey, Vice, NME etc.), they're the hardest on Gaga, but will prop up even the likes of Carly Rae, Ariana or Ciara and her mediocre music. It does not compute.

Almost voted for Katy, but I chose Radio once I saw that as an option. There was such a bias against the ARTPOP singles partially due to Katy's "competition" that it wasn't even funny. I've had several DJ's laugh at me, yell at me, hang up on me, tell me they'd play a song and then not, etc. just for requesting Applause. Katy herself said "It's not a competition" about Applause vs. Roar when being interviewed by a radio station and said nothing but positive things about Gaga but the DJ's just kept telling her "But you won!"

I voted for Troy...reason being is that he was both a friend and a business partner with Gaga and molded her from the beginning...then he abandoned her in her lowest point. This also negatively impacted the ARTPOP era from reaching it's full potential perhaps due to behind the scenes legalities

 

 

Plus, recently didn't Gaga tweet or say something in an interview about who REALLY came up with certain ideas behind LM.com and other business decisions...her hinting that it was Bobby her co-manager NOT Troy?

I voted for radio.  They refused to play any songs off ARTPOP, except Applause!
