The double standards of media calling it "stabbing" and not terrorist attack, when the attacker is of certain ethnicity/religion and the victims are civilians, not soldiers.

Hate crime is a better word.

how tragic, sadly there will probably always be a few individuals who spread hate and negativity.

I hope the victims recover quickly and to full , and the attacker thinks about his actions and might realize what he did without any "reasons" to justify his actions....attacking and stabbing at innocent people

Hate crime is a better word.

Just switch the ethnicity and it's terrorist attack.

Well if any media has called an attack against gays, because they are gay, terrorism and not a hate crime, that's a pretty lax definition of the words.

Can you provide the link to when that happened? I want to read about it.

They are civilians first and foremost. What is the difference between hating a gay or hating a person of different race/religion and killing for it?  Both should be hate crimes or not?

If you follow the news from the area any attack done by a Palestinian is labeled as terrorist attack (no difference if victims are civilians or soldiers), never a hate crime. If he attacks Jews only because they are Jews, it should be a hate crime, right? But it's never described as such. He will most likely be killed and his family's house will be demolished. Will the same happen to this guy's family? No. Did it happen to Goldstein or any other jewish extremist? No.

He only got 10 years for stabbing 3 people in 2005. Others will get 20 years for throwing stones. But not in case the stone-throwers are settlers. The law is different for different people.

In a way it was a hate crime and a terrorist attack, because this perpetrator apparently was not fond of people in the parade he targeted and even a small massacre like this can be meant to strike terror to those affiliated with his targeted group. He could have went the serial killer approach by stalking people from the parade and killing them one by one as a hate crime. But he decided to do this openly at a public event as a parade to somehow scare LGBT community from doing pride parades there. Sounds like terror...

of course, very sad this happened and my condolences to the families affected by this tragedy.

Stand in the light, cast your shadow.

The pics are disgusting. That makes me sick. I doubt that  YHWH would support it.

"You shall not murder". If he is religious, he would have known that line. That men a psychopath and a terrorist. No doubt in that.

You're comparing a conflict situation to a peaceful pride parade. Hate crimes can certainly be performed during a conflict, but not every person in the conflict is committing a hate crime against the other.

By that logic, WWII was just a bunch of hate crimes.

Also terrorism is specifically political.

The thing is that this act was political.

Some other  demonstrants were saying before "“We will protest turning Jerusalem into Sodom, and this time we will also use the humanist claim of children's mental health," or Lehava accuses homos-xuals of harming Jewish nation, ahead of Jerusalem pride parade.

I bet the thoughts of the attacker weren't much different but even more harsh.

Israel and Hamas are not in constant warfare. There is a time of peace or truce and every now and then someone gets killed, on both sides.

If the attacker would be Palestinian there would be no doubt about media headlines, it wouldn't matter if his motives are political, religious or if he's just a psychopath.

"I (ProgressiveJudaism’s moderator) was at Jerusalem Pride today.  I am studying at Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion.  My classmates and I are okay. After the attack, but this is my personal reaction and reflection:

Senseless hatred, horrific violence occurred today some-100 feet from my classmates and I today. Six people were stabbed for showing their support of the LGBT community, for proclaiming the importance of love and tolerance in conjunction with all that is holy.

A joyous, peaceful event of pride turned into solidarity: a hope for real change in the State of Israel. The blood and human remains that I saw on the road, a road which I have walked across dozens of times, will remain etched into my brain every time I show my hope for equality. Senseless hatred will not win, Love will.

מי שברך אבותינו ואמותינו,
Please help the victims of this terrorist attack regain a full healing of body and spirit, may the wisdom of their doctors and nurses aid in their recovery.  May their loved ones continue to have the strength in themselves and to help these six.
בכל מעשה ידיים עם כל ישראל ❤

I am stronger now.

it must be horrible to celebrate something that you get discriminated for and then something like that happens :noparty:

I'd say terrorism is more thought out than "I hate these gay people, I'll stab them." Regardless of the definition one chooses to use.

I'm not saying I'd be surprised, but until it happens those are empty words.

I'm deeply sad and shocked that such things could still happen in Israel today. I hate religion. Words cannot express feelings. I blame both the Police & the orthodox rabbis.

Don't even try to turn it into some twisted-sick political discussion about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. You don't even speak the local language. All of Israel's biggest news outlets called the murderer "Mehabel" (מחבל) which is Hebrew for terrorist. Not everything is about the conflict in this world.
