Tumblr 1,846 Posted July 29, 2015 Share Posted July 29, 2015 The funny thing is that no matter how much people in this forum and on social media like to deny it, when ARTPOP was first released every Little Monster was praising it to the high heavens. After the first week sales were released and the media began to drag her, people all of a sudden started turning on her. People who are that fickle just make me cringe. I am 100% certain that if Applause would have reached # 1, even if for just one week, and DWUW would have also reached number 1 and G.U.Y. would have reached the top 5, every Little Monster would be gloating about its success and how wonderful the album was for the simple fact that it slayed the charts. That, to me, is pretty sad. Oh well, I don't really care because I love ARTPOP and I respect Gaga's artistry, regardless of what how her music charts on the BB Hot 100. I agree, I saw it in the ATRL threads, it was so bad! As soon as those initial HDD numbers for ARTPOP came out, it was like everyone just turned on the music after just talking highly of it. How can someones love of music be changed by charts. Yes i would prefer for her to have higher performance on charts just so i can hear her on the radio more but i would never slam a great album because of its commercial failure. But like I said, I didn't allow an album's chart success dictate how I feel about the music. If I like, I'll support it no matter what the media or other haters have to say about it.
