Bradley 58,945
inb4 Katy announces before Gaga but Katy moves her release up to match Gaga's why would she do that tbh? I mean Gaga isn't a weak competitor, she can literally swallow Katy if her promotion was sufficient

Bradley 58,945
inb4 it's a joke I knew it was a joke. I just suddenly thought of this question, considering she indeed did the same with Roar, Applause and Roar were just one week apart from each other's release. Whispering 18,865
how is she not writing for it yet?I'm not even a big superstar but I'm always writing. That is so weird to me. Katy has to have people to help her write and they aren't on tour with her. She will hire all of the songwriters when she is done with the tour. I think her label will have the release set to hurry up...or wait...to avoid facing Taylor head on.

It just seems so ingenuous to have to rely on cowriters like that to even start your album Human generated art

She's needed help to write her pop songs from the first album.

Hola Soraya 4,355
That wasn't Gaga's fault though. Katy wasn't even half done Prism, and then a week later Gaga announced ARTPOP along with Applause's release date. Then suddenly Katy's done with her album and ROAR is being released a week before Applause. Not blaming Gaga. Just saying she should release the album when there's going to be less competition. On the other hand, I don't want her to feel rushed. ¿Tú me estás hablando en inglés?

monketsharona 79,814
inb4 Katy announces before Gaga but Katy moves her release up to match Gaga's Actually even if it's a joke, I think there's no lies here. I mean I would not be surprised if Gaga keeps everything secret about the album (included the release date) because of those kind of management moves from her contestants. By hiding the release date and the album content, she controlling absolutely everything about her next era, and she can avoid another Prism vs ARTPOP to happen... This, I'm praying her manager is lying and they are really setting her up for a surprise release (but wait would that even work for Kety, she is more of a singles artist....) Kacey Elizabeth 900
i love her gospel album lol but I guess you're right, but I personally don't think she really needs them as much as her or her label may think. Whispering has no proof of what he is saying about songwriting of Katy's songs whatsoever. He has yet to show any receipts that back up his [delusional and false] claims. The only songs of Katy that she wrote with other lyricists (she did not have them written for her) are Milk Milk Lemonade, California Gurls, Teenage Dream, Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.), Firework, Peacock, Wide Awake, Roar, Legendary Lovers, Birthday, Dark Horse, and Double Rainbow. Those lyricists are Bonnie McKee, Ester Dean, Sarah Hudson, and Sia. All her other songs had their lyrics and melodies written solely by Katy. The reason most of her songs have producers (and one or two songwriters for a few songs) credited as songwriters is because they composed the instrumental tracks (chord progression, beats, tempo, keys, guitar strums, keyboard/synth, bass lines, etc). Songwriting is more than just writing the lyrics and melodies. A few songs of Katy had songwriters who were there to touch up and tweak the lyrics a little bit, after they were solely written by Katy. Katy also has helped/was involved with the composition of instrumental track of some of her songs, too. Your Candy Perfume Girl
