Still, most pop stars get the level of attention Gaga got at the Oscars for things other than a great musical performance. Katy and the shark. Miley and the twerking. Britney/Madonna and the kiss. Taylor Swift and Kanye interruption. Beyonce and her lip syncing/pre recorded performances. Ect.

Pink is a great performer, so is Beyoncé, Katy did a good job on her Superbowl show, there's a lot of ppl getting props for doing a good job...of course, as a fan, I'd say that Gaga is exceptional and is finally getting a recognition that she should have been getting all along...

You only feel like Gaga gets more coverage for a good performance because you are actively following her and see more of it. Every artist gets a boom in coverage for an amazing or bad performance, the same as Gaga.

true but it's the fact people only take her more seriously when she's not dressed in typical Gaga fashion, do you think people would've thought she was singing amazingly if she was stood there singing it at the VMAs in 2010 in her meat dress? doubt it. It annoys me tbh

Sure, lots are known to put out good performances. Beyonce, Pink, Adele, Ariana, Christina. I think Jessie J. is well known for her vocals. Jessica Simpson back in the day was said to have good pipes. I think Fergie and Gwen have put out some solid performances (in the vocal department).
