Theater Shooting in Lafayette, Louisiana

La. gunman was a Tea Partier who hated Obama, admired Hitler and wanted women to shut up in church

The 59-year-old Houser, who told acquaintances that voting was waste of time, was less active on Facebook and Twitter, although he left behind some clues about his beliefs on those social media networks.

“If you don’t think the internet is censored, try reading a newspaper from a country that hates liberals the way I do,” reads his second — and last — Twitter post, from June 2013. The first argues that “Westboro Baptist Church may be the last real church in America [members not brainwashed].”

...

Houser signed up for an account with Tea Party Nation in June 2013, but he was not an active commenter.

Posts on other forums reveal Houser’s belief that the U.S. was racist against white people, sterilization should be mandatory for welfare recipients and former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke was a more historically significant figure than the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

“Hitler accomplished far more than any other through ‘pragmatically forming,'” Houser posted in January 2015.

God, the bolded things made me feel weird in stomach. I always wonder what people like that would see my family. Would he shoot them?  Most likely.

I hate this world more and more.

He is a terrorist. Everybody who says the opposite supports facists.

This will be the end of movie theaters.

And when will society do something to help white males in their 50s suffering from mental racism.

This guy was actually committed involuntarily by his family. He definitely had a history of mental illness.

If you didn't know, it's extremely difficult to commit an adult to a mental illness facility in the U.S. I know people who have had parents, adult children and siblings in active states of psychotic episodes, who have tried and failed to commit their family members. They wanted to get them temporarily committed just to get them stabilized in medicine and they couldn't do it.

This guy had to be bat**** crazy at some point to get an involuntary commitment in the U.S. Some of these killers are psychopaths, some have mental illness and some have a combination of both.

Lone white male? So it's not terrorism then. It's just a depression.:usrs:

Condolences to the families of the victims.

Or he is a psychopath, like most serial killers.

What was this guy's political agenda? Kill white people in a movie theatre because he hates black people? Randomly shoot anyone in a local theatre because he believes that the tea party is the correct political party?

Yes, if he had been a radicalized extremist, of any race, who left messages all over social media, about killing Americans, the military, or government officials...then yes, he would be a terrorist. Or if he was someone like Timothy McVay, with some kind of political statement behind his "mission" he would be labeled a terrorist.

You are correct, though. Many terrorists are psychopaths. Some are brainwashed to believe they are going to some magical paradise if they die when killing innocent victims...and that just isn't in the West. Do you consider radicalized extremists in places like Northern Africa or in various parts of the Middle East to be terrorists?

Read his posts on political forum on previous page. Luiz posted screenshots. He's a right wing terrorist. Westboro baptist church fan. Hated liberals. Admired Hitler.

But no, the headlines are as usual when it comes to white shooter - troubled past, mental illness. That's it.

Same happened with Dylann Roof. He killed 9 people and had a manifesto, explicitly saying he wanted to start racial war. He's not charged with terrorism. Why? Because he's white.

Since Timothy McVeigh, after 9/11 I have yet to see 1 white shooter branded as terrorist in the media. And many right-wing loonies did have political agenda.

His agenda was to create terror.

And yes he posted stuff on social media.  Lego posted a post here:

Admiring Hitler, wanting to shut woman up etc. isn't not enough to label him as a terrorist?

And of course I do label terrorists in the Middle East, North Africa etc. as terrorists.

That's not the FBI's definition of terrorist, but yes, he definitely created terror.

I saw the information, I'm just confused about what his political agenda was. Tea Partyism? Lol While I despise the tea party, their "manifesto"  isn't to go out and kill innocent people and target military and government institutions in the U.S. That's not one of their main goals. Conservatism? While I disagree with the majority of their ideas, their agenda is not to shot up and blow up innocent U.S citizens.

There isn't a question about radicalized extremists. The individuals who join ISIS and commit acts of terror in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Africa and the Middle East (in every corner of the world, tbh) are terrorists. There isn't a question about that, because they make their motives and intentions abundantly clear.

Why in the world would anyone, from any place in the world, of any race or religion...want to defend ISIS?

What is agenda was? White supremacy.

That men also committed terror as the people in ISIS. Being a terrorist is nothing Muslim exclusive :smh: And that white cis christian man defending Hitler. Don't you think that is horrible? Hitler was an awful person and everybody who defends him is a facists. And facists become terrorists like that man.

So, he targeted white people in a movie theatre?

I didn't say it was Muslim exclusive, so don't even pull that **** with me! I specifically stated that radicalized extremeists could be of any race.

Yes, I think Hitler is horrible, but what does that have to do with this guy shooting random white people in a movie theatre? He didn't go into a Jewish synagogue or  go to an pride parade to shoot gay people.

It doesn't matter where he targeted people :flop:

Look at the Boston Bombings, they also targeted random people. People who were at the wrong time at the wrong place. That is how terrorism works. Terrorizing people. I doesn't matter where and who they target. It's random victims.

Breivik killed white people too, youth of his own country, but he was still a terrorist and white supremacist.

Maybe this guys thought liberals go to that theater. Who knows? He obviously had plenty of extreme political views which radicalized him.
