I don't know whether to feel insulted for Madonna or pity the fool who wrote this

Probably both

In addition: For all those people who don't understand why this article couldn't be more wrong, let me spell it out for you. Taylor's career/success has been built by her songs. Madonnas was through her visuals/performances.

In terms of artistic integrity and direction, Miley or Gaga should be the prime perfect examples of 'The Next Madonna' and unabashedly so.

The way Taylor cranks out smashes, maybe, but is she enough of a b*tch to be today's Madonna?

That is true.

Taylor got all her fame and success by writing good music and being a nice girl. Madonna relied on controversy, which is the easier route IMO.

Most people who relied on controversy in the 80's vanished off the face of the commercial scene. Madonna had a strategic pattern and an approach that made her the first of her kind, so no, what she did was a thousands times more challenging than what Taylor is doing - which is basically walking down between the lines, making sure she never, ever crosses these lines and write about the same topics that appeal massively to the masses. Taylor is America's sweetheart, she's white, blonde, safe and makes decent pop music (bland and dreadful IMO), what's so special about her? Nada.

Why does everytime pop girls make it big in the industry the media wants to call them "the next Madonna"? I'm not a Madonna fan but even I can recognize that in order to be the "next Madonna" you have to born again... as Madonna herself.

Can I vanish into a cheeseburger pizza?

What?!?! No! Taylor has been around, but her popularity that she has now as big as how Madonna was in "1989", did not happen up until last year. Yeah, sure she sold millions of albums before 1989, but she was not everywhere like she is now. Please compare her to Madonna when the popularity she has now is still alive 10 years from now. Look at Beyonce, she comes and go as well. So no, I doubt anyone at this point, will ever keep their popularity as long as Madonna kept it.
