Guest Posted July 22, 2015 Share Posted July 22, 2015 Nicki does have a point, as she had the most discussed music video of the year and contributed to pop culture big time, so why does Taylor feel the need to make this about herself? I'm not even a big Nicki fan and even I know that she, despite doing it in an immature way, pointed out how s-xist and racist media works. Also, just because Beyoncé is being treated like a Goddess doesn't mean that MTV is respecting black women the way they should be. It's like including one black person in every single TV show just to show everyone how progressive they are. It should be about the quality and contribution to pop culture, not popularity. Nicki not being nominated and questioning MTV's phoney behaviour is something we should be applauding. Are you seriously complaining because ONE of your many nominations didn't include VOTY? That's shameful. Is not about Nicki... Katy, Ariana or even Taylor are ruining the industry with their limited view of making money and gaining popularity.
