Psychedelic 1,098
Some perfromances at the yahoo streamed artRAVE in Paris are kind of bad, I think she was drunk.
AnglerfishbraBENUS 5,734
What you all have to realize is that she when her voice sounds 'deeper' or 'bad' on the verses, she is doing this on purpose. It's to protect her voice by singing kinda 'classically' so that she can do an entire show. It's hard to explain. She can't sound exactly like she does on studio tracks, otherwise she would lose her voice.

Yeah she kinda spreads her vocals thinly thoughout the entire concert and sometimes lets the backing track do some more work so that she can preserve it for the more vocally intense parts. Though it would make more sense if she didn't spend another large part of the shows screaming "NOW DANCE", "HANDS UP" and "RAAAAAAVE" Happiness will never last, darkness comes to kick your ass... ᵃˢˢ 🕺
cd9904 193
One of the only performances that pops in my head is the iHeart Festival. During the Edge of Glory, her voice cracked so badly.

Whispering 18,865
she performed the song only there, the song is recorded from the screens video Then it is recorded by an individual's personal device. It is not a professional recording of any kind. I thought that I missed some live streaming event or something of that nature. Lol I don't really trust recordings from cell phones, cameras, etc. So much depends on the device and where you are at...how close you are to the speakers, etc.
Mast 980
Maybe because Judas is REALLY hard to sing. The original song is really auto-tuned, especially the non-chorus parts. Thus singing it live without auto-tune sounds weird? Not really. Judas is not a vocally demanding song at all. It was because of the dancing. The verses are literally all one note. Whispering 18,865
This is consistently the most pointless argument a person can throw out there. Like, if you're objectively discussing something based on merit, how is that constructive, or in any way adding to the conversation? Except for the last question, which by itself, is a valid question. It is a major challenge to dance and sing at the same time, no matter what kind of shape you are in. Singing takes a large amount of breath control. When you dance, jump and run around the stage, you compromise your breath control...which affects your vocals. Add adrenaline in the mix, and that makes it even harder. Adrenaline changes your breath control, as well. *Thats why you see Broadway leads singing in certain dance break spots, doing different moves from the chorus line or stepping away from the chorus dancers and letting them have the heavy load of the dance parts at certain times, etc. They don't have the choice of sounding out of breath! Same thing goes for Gaga. Her choreography should be designed to allow her to sing the best live vocals possible, but sometimes and in some songs, it simply isn't realistic to expect both 100 per cent of the song. If the choreography is too much, it is going to affect your vocals! (and this goes for all entertainers out there...ones with the vocal capacity to sing well in the first place) Try to dance and sing at the same time! By the way, if you try this challenge, don't just do it for 15 minutes...do it for two to two and a half hours straight. Then try it next time you have a head cold, sinus infection, the stomach flu, or a major joint or bone that is severely injured. (this doesn't pertain to just Gaga either, as many artists fight through sickness and injury to give their fans a two hour, or more, show!)
Miel 15,009
no... The mic feed proves that her vocals were horrendous. It doesn't sound "weird", it sounds bad. I think judas isn't hard to sing, it's the choreography that makes it hard to sing. She's proven she can sing it decently, BTWB+artRave proved that. True. imo the first few months she performed Judas it was kind of iffy, but she really worked into it by the time she started promoting EOG/U&I- it just took time. That said, I'm really glad that even Gaga's worst isn't really all too bad. 3 points in and ready for more

They leak sometimes (I believe it leaked for a particular BTWB show), and since it was a special performance, Gaga decided to post it on her YouTube, so yes it is professional
VenusBlackStar 1,301
A lot of "Judas" performances were kinda hit and miss vocally, but I agree with everyone bringing up the choreo as a reason it could be hit and miss. I was a little underwhelmed by Ellen Show "Judas" but that's because the dancing is so crazy there's gonna be that trade off. All of us on here who sing and perform in various capacities know that we might not sound our best doing a bunch of crazy **** while trying to support properly. Still though, Gaga on her worst day is still miles higher than other singers on their best day.
Delete 258
I have 3 questions for some of you: --How many of you can actually sing? Like decently? --How many of you can dance? --How many of you can sing decently while dancing? Me, actually.
