she can't get a Nobel though, only an Oscar and maybe a Tony award if she starts a big television show (which I doubt) . Nobel awards are above every other award and they are giv m to unique once in a lifetime discoveries/works, not to Pop and Rock stars.

Aren't tony awards for Theatre tho not television

So happy for them.

Looking at the category I think their main competition will be SNL, but I think they have a very good shot. Either way, it's great that they got a nom.

Emmys are considered the television equivalent to the Academy Awards (for film), Grammy Awards (for music), and Tony Awards (for stage).

The 67th Annual Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony will be held on September 12, 2015, at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles, and will be broadcast in the U.S. on September 19, 2015 at 8pm ET/PT on FXX .

Outstanding Variety Special
Bill Maher: Live From D.C. • HBO • HBO Entertainment in association with Bill Maher Productions and Dakota Pictures
The Kennedy Center Honors • CBS • The Stevens Company
Louis C.K.: Live At The Comedy Store • LouisCK.net • Pig Newton, Inc.
Mel Brooks Live At The Geffen • HBO • HBO Entertainment in association with Brooksfilms Limited
The Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special • NBC • SNL Studios in association with Universal Television and Broadway Video
Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga: Cheek To Cheek LIVE! • PBS • THIRTEEN Productions LLC and Interscope Records, a division of UMG Recordings, Inc.

Here is Gaga performing on the Emmy nominated Kenedy Center Honors. Sting is almost in tears. Flawless performance.

So she performed on two Emmy nominated variety specials in the same year. When will anyone else's fave do that.

The 67th Annual Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony will be held today, September 12 at 4:00 PM PDT, at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, and will be broadcast in the U.S. by FXX on September 19.

The ceremony won't be streamed live, but it's almost confirmed that some attendants will be tweeting the results. Here's one of them, but as the event starts there should be more:

The PBS special about Cheek to Cheek that aired back in October 2014 is nominated this year.

Outstanding Variety, Music, or Comedy Special

- Bill Maher: Live from D.C. (HBO)
- The Kennedy Center Honors (CBS)
- Louis C.K.: Live at the Comedy Store (LouisCK.net)
- Mel Brooks: Live at the Geffen (HBO)
- Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special (NBC)
- Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga: Cheek to Cheek Live! (PBS)

It is unknown if Gaga and/or Tony will attend. What is confirmed is that she will present at the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony on September 20.

Facts:
- Tony won this award before, in 2007 with the NBC special Tony Bennett: An American Classic.
The Kennedy Center Honors is nominated this year, and it has won this award seven times before, including five consecutive wins from 2009 to 2013. Last year, it lost.

I read that SNL is the huge favorite, but holding out for an upset! If not, I'm already looking forward to Emmy's 2016 for AHS.
