liz89 373
It's definitely a stereotype... My boyfriend listens to Gaga as well... He's not a fan but he likes her music a lot.. and he's not gay. It's not true that only gays love Gaga!
Sister 9,907
I am straight and a guy that I would date must at least like Gaga's music or be able to tolerate it or we would not get along well. It is just music, it does not define us. The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

djBuffoon 12,130
My dick is still there, so no. :)And who cares if she appeals towards one demographic more than others? She has a distinct aesthetic, she's not for everyone. I can't imagine that she'd want it any other way.
Gardevoir 9,904
That's why pop stars in general have the whole bunch of gay fans. It's not only Gaga. If we talk about Gaga, her fans are just only more visible and not afraid to express their s-xual orientation. Sugar, spice, and everything nice. Saint Laurent 4,862
It bothers me when people give "perfect world" answers like "no we are all equal and therefore you are not less of a man". The fact of the matter is, the straight people in this fanbase do feel judged both within and outside of the fanbase because it appears to many (I say appears because she actually sang "no matter gay STRAIGHT or bi") that Gaga has catered to and often solely caters to her gay audience. To be honest, even here I sometimes see people being ridiculed, in a playful way obviously, because they are straight and being gay is the archetypal s-xual orientation of a Lady Gaga fan. OP, I think we, as straight people, just have to deal with it because this isn't a perfect, accepting or judgment free world.
Head Empty 25,327
I was insecure about this for about 5 out of my 6 years in this fandom, untill I finally figured out that it's much easier to just not give a **** I mean, where you put your genitals or not is totally unrelated to the music you like . Try that in the real world.

MonSwiftAnton 3,786
Well. Gays usually likes strong s-xual women. Nothing wrong there.
NewUsername 11,500
To the people who are offended, I think OP means "how other people view you", not "are you really more gay because of it". To the first question: sadly sometimes yes I guess. People assume more quickly that you are a "queen" type of gay if you like Gaga...

VenusBlackStar 1,301
I think it just depends on who you are. When I lived with my (straight) roommate back in college he didn't really listen too much to Gaga but after I introduced him to her music he started liking some of her songs that could be considered having more "electro" or "rock" ish sounds in them like "You and I," "Judas," "Electric Chapel," "Marry the Night" because he likes rock and EDM. But he doesn't feel any less like a man.And then there's me who's gay who lives for all that YAASSSS QUEEN #gagaslaysurfaves crap and it just so happens that a lot of other gays are into that. But I still feel pretty manly. If ya wanna get real into it, speaking strictly from GENDER perspectives, removing anatomical s-x from the equation, gender is just a social performance anyway, so perform the way you want! Gaga and her music shouldn't really define that. I think it's really just people who live in stereotype world who automatically think people who listen to Gaga are all gay. giskardsb 12,565
the worst offenders of the op attitude are often the gay men on pop forums in my experience. In any case it doesn't matter, since being assumed Gay is not an insult.
