Born To Slay

Imagine her receiving Vanguard Award and announcing new album's title :legend:

I'd be slayed if she performed a medley of past hits and then her new lead single, accepted the vanguard award and then gave the title and release date of the album.

After the booing fiasco I'm not sure if she's impressed with the vmas enough to just sit in. Hopefully it will be for a prestigious award otherwise she might stay away again. It would be good to attend and give us killer fashun and support other younger artists though so I like it either way.

She will receive the Michael Jackson Award

and announce her lead single

and Asia's special line

That sounds so possible if VMA is aware of how they're going to flop without a relevant artist at their show. But I want a 15 minute slayage performance if she does receive that award which is pretty impossible in Gaga's case since she has no pop music coming out now.

???

2013 vma booing of one direction. She went backstage and vented about how she wanted to leave and didn't want to be in the same room as people who would do that.

I think they only give The Vanguard awards to those who have slayed in the past and then reach another peak. Like Britney in 2011, Timberlake in 2013 and Beyonce in 2014. So unless Gaga magically releases the years most successful album before the VMAs, she won't get it.

what peak did Britney reach in 2011? Or Beyonce in first half of 2014?

Beyonce released Beyonce in late 2013 and that had more impact in 2014 because it was released in December 2013. Britney released Femme Fatale in 2011, which has her most successful radio singles.

Britney and Justin didn't really reach any new peaks with their respective releases IMO. Both were successful, but I would struggle to call them peaks like self-titled was to Beyonce. In any case, I really don't get the feeling Vanguard has a checklist, it always feels very PR negotiated nowadays.
