Of course not.  "pop"  doesn't mean anything but "popular".  It does not imply she has to make electronic dance music,  or breezy summer bops,  or feel good anthems,  or anything else that's been popular lately.  It's always possible to innovate something new

Well maybe people would appreciate her pop records more, now that they realized that Gaga could be more than the weird girl.

If the album and the singles receive commercial success and Grammys, I don't see how it's going to be a backward move.

No. Not at all.

And I still think that Interscope wouldn't let her release a punk or metal album.

An album pop/rock, sounding more like You and I......yes. But I don't believe that at this point she would be allowed to release something completely different.

We got to know her as a pop artist, nothing wrong with that
