She should have used real German or shouldn't mention German at all since she doesn't really speak German.

but that's what's different about the song, without the fake German it would another dance music about feminism and self-empowerment :emma: And to be honest, if she tried to speak real German it would be a disaster judging by her Spanish so...

Then she should say I don't speak gibberish but I can if you like tbh.

She didn't even used the sounds that makes German german :emma: Like the Ach-sound or the soft-ch.

That's also the point. She even says "I don't speak German but I can if you like." I think the reason she chose German was because she conceptualized the song when she was in Berlin. The faux German is also representative sonically of the BS that she references feminists fighting in the English lyrics, i.e. words that tell women not to empower themselves sound like faux German nonsense.

one of the coolest things about the song is truly believing she is speaking German at first and then trying to Google Translate what she's saying and realizing you are dumb :lmao: You are trying to take off the magic of the song basically :cryga:

"My philological studies have satisfied me that a gifted person ought to learn English (barring spelling and pronouncing) in thirty hours, French in thirty days, and German in thirty years. It seems manifest, then, that the latter tongue ought to be trimmed down and repaired. If it is to remain as it is, it ought to be gently and reverently set aside among the dead languages, for only the dead have time to learn it." -Mark Twain
