Why?All I ever said is that I think it's so wrong he built a YouTube empire based on his "I'm so gay but not really" shtick and cracked jokes all the time at the expense of the LGBTQ community. Now that he's out, are we just supposed to forget that? He is a huge success, published a book, made a movie, has several publishing, advertising and endorsement deals yet we can't call him out on it? I'd like to see him explain THAT part of his struggle. Why he felt the need to constantly bring it up because in my mind, it doesn't add up that he'd tried to push it down but still brought it up in a lot of his videos. Something doesn't add up there and in fact this entire Shane coming out feels very weird and off to me. For some reason I find Lisa's video truly touching, I can just see in her eyes it's real and she's hurting. Shane's video on the other hand I find rehearsed and just... off. I can't put my finger on it but I find her point of view truly heartbreaking. As for Shane... I'd love to hear an in-depth reasoning behind constantly bring up his s-xuality while (according to his coming out video) being totally struggling with it privately.Let me put it this way so you can MAYBE try to understand where I'm coming from. If Caitlyn, while she was Bruce, would've appeared on Keeping Up With The Kardashians for years in a dress and a wig, saying "I'm okay with transgenders and yes I am totally acting like one but naaaah, that ain't me", I wouldn't be the Caitlyn Jenner fan I am today. Honestly. It took her 65 years to come to terms with it and live her life to full extend, but she never exploited that struggle for her career. I feel like Shane has. That's why I take issue. I am a gay man, I was out at the age of 5. I am not a homophobe, I am not a "hater". I'd just like to see that part explained because I feel like something doesn't add up there. Maybe he can collaborate with the HRC or Trevor or SOMETHING and make an in-depth video. Now THAT would benefit our community.Like I said before, props for coming out, yet I'm not here for the past 7 years of his career. I don't like the way he used to look down on "being gay".
