Deagan 608
I am going to very cleverly shut up. Really. I have no opinion on this. Okay I will just say this; don't call people rude now when he might actually still come out as full on gay. Not that I don't believe in bis-xuality, I just don't believe HE is bis-xual. johnpe 916
I myself have been through coming out (to myself) as bis-xual, and unless you have gone through the struggle, you have no right to criticise. I was in the same place. I wished I was simply this or simply that, but no. I developed depression, ED and what not. "We already knew", " The coming out trend" ... Bitch I better be having a coming out trend than a #Dont judge me challenge trend. I could only wish somebody could help me back then. Sexual confusion turns into a "What the **** am I" period in your life. Don't dare judge such ****. Cause most of you here are LGBT people and it disgusts me how YOU are making fun of him coming out. Slayer 9,227
None of the good ones are gay. Caspar Lee, Joe Sugg, Marcus Butler, get in me. But seriously, YouTubers need to stop doing this. We don't need 15-minute "coming out" videos. That is so five years ago. Just address it casually in an unrelated video and move on. The more we keep perpetuating the idea that being gay is a big deal, the longer it will remain a big deal. I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!! And many people still don't believe in bis-xuality, so a big name making a video about it is a good idea.

He should just be who he is, without making a big deal about it. I didn't make a big deal about being gay when I came out, because I just don't believe it should be. Because people are bi and we need the world to wake up to that. If he can help wake it up with a 15 minute video, I say he done good.

LoveandMagic 1,731
I'm not familiar with his work but I'm glad he feels comfortable enough to come out, and on YouTube no less. Hopefully his fans will see that he is still the same Shane they fell in love with. Congratulations Shane, you can now breathe a little easier and freely enjoy a whole new side of your life. I hope the path before you is as smooth as possible. May your family and friends still embrace you. Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax." ryhanna 3,507
Well I think someone else said it best : He GAINED from it. He was a responsible adult when he started his career. He has a book, a movie and several endorsement deals. It was plain wrong to poke fun at the idea of him being gay only to admit to it years later. He said he told his girlfriend a year ago, yet 9 months ago made a parody video with her about him being gay. He was in a pink tutu and his underwear. All the while he was supposedly out as bi to his girlfriend. Open your eyes, something doesn't add up. Just look at the dates he gives in his own coming out video and the latest parodies of him mocking the fact he might've been gay.I can't believe y'all. Just cause the man came out all of a sudden it's okay that he, for like what? 7 years? Has been mocking the fact everyone thought he was gay. He "ironically" kissed gay guys, wore pink tutus, got his chest hair waxed... The entire thing. All while getting paid for it.I CAN'T. FIGHT SOME REAL HOMOPHOBES AND EQUALITY BATTLES.BYE.Shane Dawson is an entertainer living in Los Angeles. 80% of his surroundings is/are gay. He'll survive.NEXT.You're honestly blowing it way, way, way out of proportion. He mocked people thinking he was gay whilst in the closet. I'm not sure why you can't see why he might do that. Sure, he got paid for it, but it doesn't diminish the psychological need to project self-hatred onto others that many people go through. Also, I'm not "fighting" any battles here. Don't be so dramatic.
