Jeez-o, fifth name change in little over ten years. This girl must have a split personality. Bet she'll be the type to expect everyone to adjust to this new name automatically too, and take the rip-roaring hump if they don't. This is totally her attempt at a clean slate but it's not going to work. For better or worse, she's wider known as Natalia Kills now and nothing's going to change that. Still, it's not the worst name she could have chosen. After all, Kate Winslet's married to a guy named Ned Rocknroll. :sharon:

I hate when women change their last name to their husband's and yeah that includes gaga, it's like admitting they are a property of a man

ps: what kind of tragic name:rip:

well why doesn't the husband changes his last name to his wife's?

why does the wife have to do that?

It's nothing to do with becoming their property, it's about becoming a unit. If you're under separate names, it makes you not feel like a couple. It's hard to feel united under different names. If you're married, you should share everything, right? Nothing becomes his or hers anymore, just "ours." There's plenty of good reasons for changing your name. For one, if you have children, whose name are they going to take? You don't want to have a different surname to your own children (this is why a lot of divorced mothers keep their ex husband's name). It means you can identify yourselves under one surname to your neighbours. You might hate your original surname and your new spouse's surname sounds a lot better. Lots of reasons, but the main one is that it just makes everything simpler and more united if you're one unit.

And there are actually plenty of cases of the man taking his wife's name. Mostly because this new name sounds a lot better. A lot of people are going in for the double-barrelled trend right now to please both parties and ensure your names are united, but it doesn't work for every name. Obviously, you couldn't be, say, a Wright-Payne! So, the obvious solution is just choose one or the other. Look, I'm as feminist as the day is long and even I think the concept of women taking of their husband's name to be s-xist is ridiculous.

You are very right, that's absolutly true. I just don't like her, because of her rude, bullying-like attitude, that's why I think everything she does is stupid.

My sister and I have been stans for years and we're so confused about everything she's done lately . . . we honestly feel like she's just doing this to have a clean slate. The name doesn't even suit her image or her personality (with Natalia Kills being the most fitting of the many she's had in the past few years). I'm glad she feels honest and happy but I don't know . . .

It's tradition. A man can change his name if they want. but most dont because its easier to stick to tradition. much better than those ugly double barrel names :reductive2:

She didn't even create that surname.

People have even been getting their housbands surname for centuries now

ugh their lack of creativity is making me feel sick.
