"No to Austerity" wins greek Referendum with 61% of the votes

I don't see how they're two opposites  fear is always permitted because it creates some kind of long-term look on the future. Greece today voted for the sake of voting 'no', it felt symbolic for the Greeks. They barely even knew what kind of cuts the trojka had proposed.

This is a sad day for democracy, because populism and nationalism have won.

Well, both are. A lot of people were stupid enough to vote for their own interests only instead of the whole country's (they still do). Politicians only served their own interests (staying in the govt, getting money). Money isn't free in the Eurozone and has to come from somewhere.

This government only serves its' own party's interests. It's all party politics, no people politics. They don't care about the people, they just want to be able to say 'we told you so!'.

What I don't get is what do you actually think will happen now. Do you think it's the end of austerity? Do you think Greece will get a full debt reduction now?  Do you think Greece magically get money from somewhere? And that the banks will magically get money from somewhere? How is Greece supposed to stay in the Eurozone?

I know you're against the EU, but I still don't know what you propose instead of the EU. What kind of EU would you want to see? Why do you think Germany has too much power? Why did you compare the EU to Hitler's Reich?

The fact that you act like you know anything about the vote and the people and judge us so easily is  is not only insulting and ignorant but ridiculous as well. You know nothing sadly and your whole stance  about this is against any  kind of humanity and care about people and European civilization, you only care about money (money that don't belong to you to begin with) and receive propaganda from media like a sheep. I am not gonna discuss when you talk like that about my fellow people. Greece has said No before when the monsters of WW II where upon us and we endured, we are proud people. Many died back then and many are already dying now, at least now they will die for their freedom and dignity, not for the imperialism of this rotten Europe that has nothing to do with the glory of its past, only corruption, racism and inequality.  So if you agree with the crippled racist Soible and his minions keep treating with Grexit but I want to see how your precious economical Union will endure then. Euro is already under the dollar in influence when it was created to have double its power. Germany numbers are negative. When Greece goes the other small countries of Europe will receive all the extra weight from the Titan that has colonized them by economical force and they can't take it as well making this corrupted empire to crumble. Do you think the British were stupid not to enter the Euro, no they were powerful and clever capitalists and could avoid the chains. Even the German socialists had predicted years ago that with the politics of Germany their country will become powerful  again over the dead bodies of the weaker but they also predicted the collapse of Europe (again). But of course you don't care about that, you only care about judging millions of people and their responsibility like you have any authority, the only thing you have is arrogance and ignorance.

You keep shouting things without ever showing an example, argument or whatsoever. If you say the EU is corrupt, give examples! If it's undemocratic, show examples of how it should be to you! If you say the media I follow is full of propaganda, show me examples!

Comparing the current Greek crisis to the second world war is ridiculous to say the least, by the way. If they cut 400 million on the defense it's not going to kill anyone. Raising taxes on yachts is not going to kill anyone or make anybody get into poverty. Raising business taxes isn't going to kill anyone.

we are supposed to be an European UNION. A union is made to support everyone, and there will be countries who need more help at certain times. And the people of that country are not guilty, and the rest of europe shouldn't be putting a gun on their head to make them live in bad conditions because of others mistakes.

This whole thing has changed my view of the EU so much. SO MUCH.

Spain is a country, and it is divided in different territories. Each one of them (17 in total) with their own governments and economy. Each one of them participating to the central government, who gives money in proportion to everyone. There are some who need more (Extremadura) and others are already rich (Catalunya, Madrid, Valencia...) and I don't see those asking Extremadura to give their money back. THAT IS A UNION.

Europe right now looks like a joke to me. A joke to keep some countries rich while pushing the others down.

United States is what we want to be? Lmao. We are so far away from that.

And this referendum is the most democratic thing done in Europe in a long time. What is not democratic is rich countries doing what they want to the others, and making peoples life worse when they are already rich and out of the crisis. The people are the ones who have to decide because that decision affects their lifes ditectly. Unlike yours or mine. Because we wouldn't notice if that debt is paid. You can say otherwise, but it is true.

Yes and the left part of the goverment is the one that makes the actions you disapprove. Tsipras was a member of the communist party some years ago...

ONE politician from one party that has 10% of the goverment on Greece said something racist then was removed from the goverment.

Who is saying Germany is building up the fourth reich??? A random newspaper had and article about that and now somehow this represents the entire greek population as well as the goverment!
