Her covers, both from jazz and rock songs, have been so much applauded that I'm afraid that acclaim will surpass her own songs. And she'll probably be comfortable with it. It's good for her to be applauded for her voice, no doubt about that! After all, isn't that what she's always wanted? But a music artist, and specially LADY GAGA, is (or used to be) so much more than that. I'm truly afraid that, in 20 years, she'll be the greatest covers' singer ever, rather than having her own repertoire. She can cover between albums and for tributes. This is Lady Gaga we´re talking here, she would NEVER make something for a pure profit and we know how passionate she is about writing her own music... PopBitch 1,218 Posted July 4, 2015 Share Posted July 4, 2015 I see no problem throwing in one cover if it fits the album Plenty of big names who write their own music have thrown one in on album because they loved the song and it worked for the album they wrote, as long as it's not a total imitation, but she puts her own stamp on it. Muse did a cover of Nina Simone's Feeling Good on their Origin of Symmetry album. It's become a classic for them live beloved by fans because of Matt's amazing performance, and the whole band is electric on stage with this song.
