Some of the lyrics are good but the over all sound of it is very repetitive of what Gaga did before with R&B inspired tracks. And don't even get me started on how over rated the video is for it. That was just really bad and reflected how Gaga has no time to come up with theme and plot for the video. It was thrown together in about week, when the label decided to make it the next single instead of VENUS. Gaga had a whole idea planned for VENUS but she had to scrap it and come up with something in a few days for the DWUW video. Gaga likes to plan and perfect her videos and performances for weeks, months even, but with DWUW she was forced to come up with an idea right away, that's why I believe she called the video unlike anything she's done before. I think he may have featured on this song instead of R. Kelly and that song would have snatched everybody's weave that year. TRU. I think most people assume it was the smash single that got away because of the no MV deal. Of course, a lot of people here seemed to think the same of G.U.Y. until it flopped as a single, so I'm curious if the same sentiment would have stood if D.W.U.W had had a released video, and still underperformed. Personally I think Do What You Want is a much better song than G.U.Y. (though I like G.U.Y.), but the R. Kelly factor really skeeves me out. Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. Kelly factor really skeeves me out.DWUW was already at top 15 hit with no vid , with a vid it would have pushed for top 10 keep in mind the video seemed like the perfect controversy event.
