CHROMATICA 2020 477
Greg Abott is the governor of our state. Rick Perry's term ended earlier this year I realized that when I posted it but I was hoping no one would catch that. Thanks.
Shadow 6,714
Accident? Like the gun landed in his lap at the church and his fingered slipped killing nine people?Come on, Rick, you have got to be more competent than that. The gun lobbyists aren't paying you that much to pretend that a disgusting terrorist attack was some slip up.A crime is a crime. I like the idea of being able to protect myself, but there needs to be a better way to keep guns off the hands of psychos. Stand in the light, cast your shadow. Shadow 6,714
1. Rick Perry is the real accident here.2. If your initial response to a national tragedy such as this one is to immediately defend guns, then you're an asshole. This can't be good publicity for his campaign. His mouth is probably going to screw up his chances at the primaries like it did last time. His campaign became the accident, because it's about to crash. Stand in the light, cast your shadow. Shadow 6,714
Um, a better way? He was already banned from owning firearms. I heard someone related to him bought him a gun as a gift for birthday? Didn't Adam Lanza get his guns from his mother as well? Unfortunately, there needs to be a watch list of people who either have been diagnosed with a mental disorder or taking strong medications that might have those side effects. People with disorders should not be able to be in the same home as the registered firearm. I'm not advocating the banning of guns for trained, registered gun owners, but what is wrong with having measures to keep the mental disordered folks and weapons separated? Every time something like this happens, it doesn't do gun advocates any favors. Why not look for solutions of mutual benefit to stop massacres like this from occuring? Stand in the light, cast your shadow.
Goosey 3,017
I heard someone related to him bought him a gun as a gift for birthday? It was illegal.Didn't Adam Lanza get his guns from his mother as well? Unfortunately, there needs to be a watch list of people who either have been diagnosed with a mental disorder or taking strong medications that might have those side effects.Adam Lanza was not diagnosed with any mental illness. He was taking medications. He was under age and shot her and stole them. Mentally ill people are already prohibited from owning firearms under federal law. People with disorders should not be able to be in the same home as the registered firearm. I'm not advocating the banning of guns for trained, registered gun owners, but what is wrong with having measures to keep the mental disordered folks and weapons separated? In most states there are no gun registries and no licence is required to own them. Not allowing people in the same house is unacceptable for those with friends and family struggling with mental disorders. And who decides what "mental disorder" is? Already many veterans (and others) avoid seeking help for PTSD or other mental disorders because they are afraid that would mean they would suddenly be unable to possess firearms. Alright, what's stopping anyone in those situations from flipping out and carrying out the next mass shooting or terrorist attack? I understand having guns for protection, but what about those who use them to attack? Where were all the gun owners to take out this last guy before he shot up a church? Ambrosia 3,775
Perry is like Joe Biden - a walking gaffe machine. Every time he opens his big mouth, something stupid comes out. Perry is a typical example of the regular ignorance that comes any time there is a mass shooting - it turns into gun debate again, and how the govt. wants to take guns away again. The pro-gun people are so dug in and entrenched thinking the 2nd Amendment meant something that it didn't, they don't budge and they are well-organized. There is money to be made in guns, there's not money to be made in banning guns. I hate that that's the way it is, but it is. I would actually vote for Jeb Bush over Perry, and those are some hard words to type. If these are the kinds of things Perry is saying, I'm more than done listening. Do not do to others what angers you if done to you by others. -Socrates
INNA 3,791
100% premeditated and in cold blood. It is an act of terrorism and nothing less. fragment-fragment--bul-uh...scab-uh..fragment-foot, bullet fragment foot bich!

I don't get what you're trying to say. Ignorance how? The Democrats already attempted to push several bills in recent years. It's ignorant to claim the Democrats don't want to take guns away. The pro-gun people are so dug in and entrenched thinking the 2nd Amendment meant something that it didn't, they don't budge and they are well-organized. The Supreme Court already decided that. The argument that it was a collective right was overturned and was decided it's an individual right. ******** I was more speaking on Perry - and yes, he does often put his foot in his mouth. Lion Heart 15,041
I ****ing can't. Pretty much every damn GOP 2016 candidate has refused to call this what it really is: an act of terror from a full blown racist who wanted to ignite a 'race war.' Rick Perry called this an "accident," freaking Rand Paul said it was due to the lack of faith(?), and I'm sure Santorum, Walker, Cruz recently said something stupid too. Also this: Dylann Roof wrote in his manifesto that he was influenced by the white nationalist group the Council of Conservative Citizens. The CCC is registered by the IRS as a 501©(4) nonprofit, which means it is subsidized by the government through tax exemptions and is meant “for the promotion of social welfare.” Bernie Sander's response: “The Charleston church killings are a tragic reminder of the ugly stain of racism that still haunts and taints our nation,” he continued. “This senseless violence fills me, and I believe all Americans, with outrage, disgust, and with a deep, deep sadness.”“The hateful killing of nine people who were praying inside a church is a horrific reminder that while we have made in country significant progress in advancing civil rights, we are very far from eradicating racism,” Sanders added. At least someone gets it. ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀
