why gaga has so much less followers on instagram than others?

I was on instagram and i noted that gaga has "only" 8 milions followers, it's a lot but katy perry or miley for example has kind 22 millions, beyonce 36. Why gagz has so much less followers than other pop stars? Instagram is the most important social network nowadays

It only indicates how many people (of a certain demographic) are interested in that person. Adele, if she had instagram (or maybe she does idk  ) probably wouldn't have a huge amount of followers but she had the most impressive sales in years

She started using it on a regular basis late 2014 and since then she has gained loads of followers. Its just that she started using it late i think. ( IN 2012 -2013 she would upload 1-2 photos every 3 months
