Red 97,985 Posted June 12, 2015 Share Posted June 12, 2015 Breaking: Asa Butterfield Is No Longer In The Running To Become Spider-Man By Heroic StaffJune 12, 2015 During today's installment of Meet the Movie Press, Jeff Snieder reporter for The Wrap, gave an update on the Spider-Man casting process. Sources close to Sneider claim that there are only three contenders left in the Spidey casting race, Tom Holland, Charlie Plummer and Matthew Lintz. Casting is at a standstill due to Sony and Marvel being at odds with casting. Snieder says it's due to Marvel liking Plummer and Sony liking Holland. The one absent name from the list is actor Asa Butterfield, who has been rumored for to have already landed the role. Butterfield might have screwed up his deal by going on Reddit and replying to posts that were about him and the Spider-Man castings. The actor who will play Spider-Man is due on the set of Captain America: Civil War in July, so we should hear a casting confirmation soon!
